Warrior queens and Roman invaders do battle in the final volume of this thrilling epic fantasy trilogy.
Caesar's soldiers have murdered, massacred and pillaged their way through Gaul and loom on the far side of the sea, ready to descend upon Britain; with them are an unstoppable legion of men twisted by dark magic.
Somehow Queen Lowa must repel the invasion, although her best general is dead and her young druid powerless. She faces impossible odds, but when the alternative is death or slavery, a warrior queen will do whatever it takes to save her people.
Every empire has its downfall.

"Would I read the next one? Yes, absolutely. Bring me my hammer, bring my beer, bring it on!" (Sfcrowsnest on Age of Iron)
"If you like your fantasy packed with bloodthirsty Druids, hammer-wielding heroes, strong female leads, action, intrigue, betrayal, and a brilliantly conceived world then Age of Iron is for you." (Book Beard on Age of Iron)
"Absolutely loved it." The series flows easily and the characterisation is easily believed. Sad to finish the final book - as I would love to see the characters move forward - but I think this is always the reflection of a great story!
Throughout all three books, I have smiled at the expletives coming from the character, Doug - which was infective and became part of the dialogue with the other characters. One of the best fantasy stories I've read/ listened to, for a long time! (I also thought the final post-script was very funny!)
Brilliantly delivered and a pleasure to listen to! A real master of the art of story telling.
Sure - used any and every opportunity to listen to the story.
Looking forward to seeing what this author does next!
I am sad this is over! I feel like Dug and Spring and Lowa have been my friends over the past few weeks - and even Atlas and Chimanka, which surprises me.
Masterful job Mr Watson - I look forward to reading more of your work in the future. And an awesome job done by the narrator too.
The plethora of badger based swearing was brilliant.
Badger's spunk trumpet.. is perhaps the most memorable turn of phrase I have heard.
The ending was fantastic.
Yes.. there were several, but no spoilers shall be placed here. Having come to love the characters over the whole trilogy any situation where evil befalls any of them has the potential to be moving.
The 'of Iron' trilogy are great books to listen to, Sean Barrett does a brilliant job of bringing the characters to life. I can't remember another book which has moved me and made me laugh so much.
"Very good, possibly even great"
Excellent end to a great trilogy. It's refreshing to read a well crafted book that actually finishes after three books!
"very good conclusion to the trilogy"
unfortunately all good things must come to an end. Very happy with the ending. It's been a roller coaster but we got there in the end
"Great end to a very entertaining trilogy."
When I started this trilogy, I did so with a little trepidation. There seems to be a lot of rubbish being produced these day. However, from the first chapter I was drawn into it. Wonderful characters, locations and story lines throughout the trilogy. Added to the great writing I must praise Sean Barrett for bringing the characters to life.
"Great finish to a great series"
Great ending to the series and really well written. I want more of the characters. The build up to the final battle is great and love how the author takes you into the deluded minds of this characters
Gritty witty and absolute romp, Mr Watson plays with history and tells a marvelous tale.
Narration is just fantastic Sean Barrett voice acting is amazing.
If you love British and Scottish accents you'll love this!
This series has been thrilling and engaging all the way through. Angus Watson has a distinct storytelling style and the books are innovative and exciting. The pace doesn't let up all the way through and this final book is a perfect climax to the trilogy.
"Trio of star fun"
This has been soooooo much fun I'd recommend it to anyone the characters and drive / pace of the tales are superb
This has been the best value for money in ages
Let's hope Gus is back soon
"Fun, bloody and well told"
Great series can't wait for the next ... If you never tried audio books this is the reader and story you need to listen too!
Loved this and could do with another...bloody Roman fun. I'm pretty sure this is absolutely historically accurate as well.
