Living in Southern California, Cheyenne was used to seeing hot military men as she went about her daily business. An anonymous encounter at the grocery store cemented her crush on one such man. He was big, built, and incredibly easy on the eyes, but it wasn't as if he would ever really notice her.
Always in control of any situation, Faulkner "Dude" Cooper knows explosives. As a bomb expert, he's lived through many high pressure situations. Disfigured by a bomb while on a mission, he's used to being looked at with pity. When he's called to a local supermarket to assist the local PD, the last thing he expects to find is a generous act of kindness performed by a beautiful, amazing woman. Enchanted by her selflessness in the face of danger and intrigued by her actions to save civilians she didn't know, Dude's hooked.
Dude was able to save Cheyenne from the group of thugs trying to take her life, but when the past comes back to haunt them both, sometimes having the knowledge and the desire isn't enough to beat the countdown of the clock.
Protecting Cheyenne is the fifth book in the SEAL of Protection Series. It can be listened to as a stand-alone, but it's recommended you hear the books in order to get maximum enjoyment out of the series.

"Good love story."
I'm enjoying the series, these guys are good alpha protectors. I do think "Dude" was a little over the top controlling. The must be home by this time and so on was a little annoying. Other than that he was a great guy.
"Not worth listening too!"
The narration was horrible. The voice of Cheyann was whiny. It was like chalk on a chalk board! The story was written in choppy sentences. Save your time and money!
"HOT, HOT, HOT!"
Take charge seals are so hot. Cheyenne is fantasizing about a military man, last name Cooper. She had seen him at the neighborhood grocery store on more than one occasion. Dude is called to that very store to disarm a bomb only to discover it's wrapped around Cheyenne. Action-packed and filled with suspense, this is s fascinating book.
"Dude got on my nerves."
Overall, I've enjoyed this series as I like the whole damsel in distress type of story and that's basically what each story in this series is based.
I like the toughness and roughness of the seals with tender hearts. What I didn't like was Faulkner/Dude's overbearingness. He got on my nerves and I found myself rolling my eyes too many times to count.
I wanted to like him, as he seemed cool in other stories, but in this one, he was just way too much. Made it hard to like him. Cheyenne can keep him cause she seems the perfect little submissive for his totally unnecessary dominance. She came across as almost weak.
Also, the story was a little too far fetched. The performance was good, though.
"love this series!"
these Seals are overprotective but that's their job! you expect them to protect the women they love also! great stories and very emotional!
"Cheyenne and Dude"
Great story and another strong female character to enjoy. I like all of Susan Stoker's books and haven't read a dud yet.
Narrator does a good job.
This one has some sex scenes that you may want to listen to without an audience. Earphones recommended.
The series keeps growing. I like that the author addresses all the crazy things that have happened to the group. She builds on the foundation set in other books, layering the stories.
"Want to like this one"
Has great start, loved the way H/h meet. Then seemed to loose momentum for me.
In the top 20%.
Cheyenne was my favorite character. She was courageous and selfless which made her appear very strong. She didn't look for trouble nor did she live in a way that would invite trouble, but she was smack in the middle of it when she met Faulkner.
Stella does all voices well, but I particularly like the way she portrayed Cheyenne in this book.
I did laugh at some of the things that went on in Cheyenne's head. She was easy to relate to.
I loved the job this Susan Stoker gave Cheyenne's character. It made her reaction to some of the traumatic experiences she went through even more believable.
I didn't get a chance to review this because I finished it while driving. Loved the story. Dude is the more aggressive one of the bunch.
Love this authors books just gets better and better never can wait for the next book this is not and author you find that you like some of her books if you like one you love them all
I love these books, all of them. Can't wait for the next. I would recommend them all
