Publisher's Summary

Samuel Clearwater, aka Preppy, likes bowties, pancakes, suspenders, good friends, good times, good drugs, and a good f--k.

He's worked his way out from beneath a hellish childhood and is living the life he's always imagined for himself. When he meets a girl, a junkie on the verge of ending it all, he's torn between his feelings for her and the crippling fear that she could be the one to end the life he loves.

Andrea 'Dre' Capulet is strung out and tired.

Tired of living for her next fix. Tired of doing things that make her stomach turn. Tired of looking in the mirror at the reflection of the person she's become. Just when she decides to end it all, she meets a man who will change the course of both their lives forever.

And their deaths.

For most people, death is the end of their story.

For Preppy and Dre, death was only the beginning.

Aaaaaaa Another great one in a great series!

Would you listen to Preppy: The Life & Death of Samuel Clearwater, Part 1 again? Why?

Hell yeah!

What other book might you compare Preppy: The Life & Death of Samuel Clearwater, Part 1 to, and why?

Any other one in this series! Great story. Kept me on the edge of the seat from start to finish.

Which scene did you most enjoy?

Mmmm All of them I guess. But the end killed me: Who are you!? She is my wife!Like, Whaaaat?

Any additional comments?

I haven't been lucky with books I purchased lately I returned few of them and that was a bit disappointing Then I stumbled upon TM Frazier's books and hallelujah! finally some great books, which I won't mind listening to again. I'll be sure to buy all her books.

Love him? hate him? hate loving him? Preppy rules!

I listened to this audio book less than a fortnight after finishing the book. I honestly didn't think it would be possible to improve on what TM Frazier gave us in print, but the narration was terrific, the pace perfect, and I'm sure I'll be listening to this at least twice more while waiting for Part 2!
Fave line: “Why do I have a gun?” he repeated, like it was the ridiculous question that it was. “’Cause throwing bullets by hand isn’t exactly effective.”
Loved it!

Oh Preppy!!!

For the quirkiest character of the trio between King & Bear, Preppy’s story was well deserved & absorbed with awe. Some terribly unwanted character traits that haunt yet still don’t make you hate him, Preppy is definitely a unique & powerful individual. The narration although different from the prior series was well executed.

whoooooeeeee!!!!

I almost didn't start preppys trilogy as I didn't know if I could listen through these 2 broken stories.....and broken it was.
there is a few scenes that don't add up, like describing eyes when only moments before it was so dark nothing could be seen also reading paragraphs in the dark.....T.m.frazier dotted i's and crossed t's in earlier series but not here.
and although I like lance, I'm afraid rob Shapiro is sadly missed.
kirsten does well Bringing drea to life.
I cringed in a few spots but understand what was effectively trying to portray.
I think the different preppy in the next book will suit lance as it sounds like most of his character from earlier is missing.
all in all for a tricky subject, t.m. Frazier did well.
I'd like to know who is looking out for Oscar though!!!!!

I loved this story

I have fallen in love with audible books from the King series. I have found the characters so compelling but I loved hearing Preppy’s story as he was such a unique character.

Love this Author

I love, love love the story that TM Frazier has woven throughout this series of books. After listening through the first 4 I was hanging out to hear Rob Shapiro continue his fabulous work when dedicated to Preppy. I couldn't wait. Unfortunately, Mr Shapiro didn't continue working with TM Frazier so I've suffered a major disappointment when expecting to hear his amazing interpretation of Preppy's voice.

Don't get me wrong Lance Greenfield does a fantastic job, he draws you in and catches your attention, but it's not quite the same.

Love Preppy!

If you enjoyed the rest of the series, then you're likely to enjoy this. Felt a little slower than the others, but maybe that was just me, or maybe it just started off that way... Thoroughly enjoyed, though. Very good narration. This narration of Preppy's character felt a bit different to the other's but still very good. The other versions of him felt a bit more high energy, which I feel is a bit more accurate to his nature... Can't wait to read the next book. I highly recommend.
