Publisher's Summary

Striking beauty comes at a price. Rahab paid it when at the age of 15 she was sold into prostitution by the one man she loved and trusted—her father. With her keen mind and careful planning she turned heartache into success, achieving independence while still young. And she vowed never again to trust a man. Any man. God had other plans. Into the emotional turmoil of her world walked Salmone, a prominent leader of Judah, held in high esteem by all Israel. A man of faith, honor, and pride. An enemy. What is a woman with a wrecked past to do when she wants to be loved, yet no longer believes it possible? The walls of Jericho are only the beginning. The real battle for Rahab will be one of the heart.

listen to a sample prior to purchase

lovely story, but I did struggle with the narrator's voice... I recommend sampling the book first.

good but not great

I didn't enjoy this book as much as others by the same author. Maybe it was partly my frame of mind at the time. The supposedly Jewish culture Rahab was trying to fit in with seemed rather American in manner and thought. The Hero was short tempered, angry, rude and harsh frequently, he treated Rahab with contempt much of the time. Love is not true love if it is not by choice and cannot be explained. only perhaps attraction and there was little even of that mentioned. True, nobody is perfect and all have recurring faults and flaws to work through but why Rahab should fall in love with a man who treated her so harshly and hardly treated others any better is a mystery to me.

A great biblical story

Tessa has brought to life the life and spiritual journey of Rahab in an easy readable way. She also has portrayed so well the Israelite story.

Gripping, enjoyable read!

Fantastic story with lots of depth which explored what Rahab's life could have been like.
