New York - based photographer Cat Jordan is ready to begin a new life with her successful, button-down boyfriend. But when she learns that she's inherited the estate of a complete stranger - a woman named Isabelle de Florian - her life is turned upside down.
Cat arrives in Paris to find that she is now the owner of a perfectly preserved Belle Époque apartment in the ninth arrondissement, and that the Frenchwoman's family knew nothing about this secret estate. Amid these strange developments, Cat is left with burning questions: Who was Isabelle de Florian? And why did she leave the inheritance to Cat instead of her own family?
As Cat travels France in search of answers, she feels her grasp on her New York life starting to slip. With long-buried secrets coming to light and an attraction to Isabelle de Florian's grandson growing too intense to ignore, Cat will have to decide what to let go of, and what to claim as her own.

Loved it...could not put it down . even if I hadn't read "The House By The Lake",Ì'm sure I'd still love this. I would love the characters of the two books to meet.
I know i am in the minority here, but I was not impressed with this book. The beginning and ending were fairly good, but everything in between slow moving. Okay to pass the time.
I LOVED the story line! Even though you wouldn't quite call it a mystery, I loved all the characters and the story. And I would DIE if they wrote a second one about Kat and her new love, and what she does with the apartment. Just overall great story, sad it had to end.
Fantastic story of old Paris, WW2, friendships, modern day NY, modern day decisions & WW2 decisions that affect lifetimes for all those who survived. Must read if you like back stories of WW2 survivors & how they cope with existing through rough times.
"a great read!"
This book was simply charming. o only wish there was a third book to intertwine the two stories.
"Photos from Paris"
Story of an apartment in Paris inherited from a friend of her grandmother. A photographer from New York flies to Paris to unravel the mystery of her grandmothers life in Paris in the 1930. While figuring out the story of the apartment she learns of the lives of the circle of women who surrounded her grandmother. She also learns about what makes good marriage.
"A must read."
I so enjoyed this book. The ending was a total surprise. Never saw it coming.
The other wonderful part of these 2 books, is there isn't any bad language or explicit sexual content.
Will try to patiently wait for the new book coming in the fall.
I first read The House By The Lake for my book club and then read this. I could not stop listening to either of them. Wonderful stories!
This book kept my interest. It provided a little romance, a little mystery. I loved it.
I was not in love with the narration at first, but the story was so addicting it was easy to get past. Wonderful story above a beautiful place!
A fabulous plot full of beauty, romance, suspense & mystery. The characters were realistic and the imagination behind the story was rich with detail.
great and entrancing story that takes you back to a magic time and era in Paris
"PARIS TIME CAPSULE"
Excellent story, about a young woman who inherits a fortune. The story has so many surprising twists and turns of events. a very good read. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
"Not what I hoped"
Thought this story of the untouched apartment sounded interesting unfortunately it played a very poor second to a romance that would not be out of place in a mills and boon novel.
