A man of few words, Boris has a firm way of saying no, but Jan knows he's her mate. Despite some less-than-subtle overtures, she hasn't had much success in getting her bullheaded moose to notice her, but all that changes when her life is put in danger. Suddenly the damaged soldier keeps finding excuses to come to her rescue, but as far as Jan is concerned, her mate is the one in need of saving.
It will take some subtle maneuvering to outfox her moose into admitting he loves her, but this wily vixen is more than ready for the challenge. And if that doesn't work, Momma's offered to loan her the shotgun....

this was an awesome book and I loved being able to work and listen to one of my favorite Arthurs
"cute and quick"
I enjoyed the story but it won't be on my repeat listen list. it is worth the credit and had a fun heroine.
This book is a romantic, comedy, mystery and paranormal.
We meet Jan and Boris in Book 2 of Kodiak Point, Jan is a Fox and helped with the escape of Tammy. Jan knows who her mate is and she is not afraid to remind him every time. But when push comes to shove and a mystery of killings and missing people unravel, Jan might finally get her way or give up completely. She is well known for her armory and skill, she can take care of herself, but she would rather do it with Boris.
Boris is a moose and doesn’t want anything from anyone only to be left alone and if Jan keeps getting herself in trouble he is going to have to put her over his knee, he has had all he can take. Especially when someone tries to kill her, she belongs to him and no one touches what is his, so the moose says. Things at Kodiak Point are getting a bit rough and dangerous.
I have to say first, it took me a while to figure out if I wanted to slap myself on the forehead or laugh so hard I'll cry. I have to admit the slap stick comedy, adventure and romance was refreshing. I learned quickly not to drink any fluids when listening to this book, the unpredictability of the characters and some not so unpredictable, and the things they say, lol. Saying that, the book is hilarious and I can almost seeing it playing out as a cartoon cross between Scooby-do and Archer. So not for kids.
Lived it it was funny and entertaining even my husband started to listen to it and got a laugh out of it
"A bit disappointing"
No...no a great listen.
I really enjoyed reading the first book in this series and so got this one as an audio book. Unfortunately, it was not as good as the first. The story had a lot of potential but the romance was just not there. There was no real connection until the end where they defended each other.
I love the stories of the series and just waiting for the next 2 books. Loved the fox and the moose story they are so funny together.
I was very curious about Boris and Jan after the first book. Things are left hanging and you have to wonder what happened there. This brings you up to speed, picking up with the car accident and Jan separating from Tammy. You get to see what happened with her and when she meets up with Boris.
I love Jan and the way she tries temper being a lady with her bada$$ gun totting side. She is a riot when she decides not to hide her tough chick side. Man, if you could mix Donna Reed with The Bride from Kill Bill, then you would have Jan. She is more than a little awesome. The banter with Boris is fabulous.
Boris has numerous issues to overcome, the biggest is his PTSD. Thankfully he comes to his senses and seizes his gal. Definitely the perfect pairing. Mix in the bit with her parents and you will be rolling!
There is some delightful smexy action happening, cause true mates just can’t keep their hands off for too long. Yummy Alpha shifter is my favorite flavor!! Have the ice cream ready!
The side plot with Gene gets interesting, because we start to see more of him and find out his motivations. Ya might be surprised at how they all end up.
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Chandra Skyye, who I really liked on the first book. This book wasn't quite a love fest for my ears. She just did weird things with Jan’s dialogue. More often than not she made her sound immature and a touch whiny, which is not the character at all. It was mostly only at the spoken lines, the overall narrative was smooth and a great tone. Maybe she was trying to go too far away from the Tammy voice in the last book. I just wish she had made other choices, perhaps more snarky.
I am very interested in seeing what happens in the next book. I am hooked on Kodiak Point!! I really hope all the rest of the audio is coming soon!!
*** I hope this review was useful to you and helped your decision to read or not read this book. I love reading and sharing my opinions with other readers. I listen at double speed; all my impressions of the narration are from that setting. Thanks for taking the time to read my review!
