The Powerful Concluding Novel to The Restoration Chronicles
When news that the wall of Jerusalem is broken down and its gates have been burned with fire, Nehemiah, Jewish cupbearer to King Artaxerxes in Persia, seeks God's guidance. After fasting and prayer, he's given leave to travel to Jerusalem and rebuild the city wall, not anticipating all the dangers that await him on his arrival. The leaders of the surrounding nations become his fierce enemies, plotting to assassinate him and halt the work. A drought, meanwhile, has left the country impoverished, many families resorting to selling their children as bondservants just to keep from starving.
Capturing the rebuilding of the wall through the eyes of a number of characters, On This Foundation is a powerful exploration of faith in the midst of oppression and hope that, in spite of appearances, the gracious hand of God is upon those who believe.

"The Restoration Chronicles Book 3"
I absolutely loved this series!!! Lynn Austin is by far my favorite author. This is a biblical fiction series occurring during the lives of the prophets. This specific book involves Nehemiah.Lynn Austin is able to take the story of Nehemiah and make it so riveting that you can't stop listening. After each book, I went to the scripture and was surprised to find hour incredibly accurate it was. Entertaining and educational. I would recommend reading this in order and if you have not read the Gods and Kings series, then do so before this series. Amazing. You will not be disappointed.
The story of Israel's spiritual and historical struggle to exist as a people and as a nation is intriguing.Nehemiah is a prophet that most people don't know. His vital part in raising the walls from the ashes of the Persian and Babylonians wars is well developed.
"Loved this story. Made mw think of God's & mercy."
LOVED it could'nt put it down.
The most memoriable moment when the eldest daugther decided to join the men to build the wall and refused to obey Nehemiah's direct order to cease.
"A full story"
Lynn Austin must spend a lot of time researching the time and place. She obviously loves the scriptures and finds the humanness in the bare bones story available to us in them. Definitely worth the price and time.
"Outstanding Book, Author, & Narrator!!!"
Absolutely loved all aspects of this audio book! I had no trouble visualizing what I was hearing. I was able to totally immerse myself in the storyline and with the characters. And best of all, this wonderful Biblical historical fiction did not try to stray nor did it come into conflict with the Bible! Well done, indeed!!! 8-)
Highly recommend! You won't be disappointed. Lynn Austin is well worth reading when it comes to historical Biblical fiction. This series was so good. It left me wanting more...
One of the best books I've read So well written that I found myself weeping with the characters through trials and triumphs. It also impacted me personally on a spiritual level causing me hunger to serve God more faithfully.
"Clean, Engaging, and Well-done"
A wonderful, clean, read. The story lines are interesting and engaging and unpredictable. The faith of the characters strengthens my own as they seek to live according to God's law amidst their own true-to-life struggles.
I really enjoyed this book. Lynn's writing and Suzanne narrative skill is a winning combination. I
