Publisher's Summary

At 28, Lucy is doing well for herself. She's got a great job, her boss loves her, and her friends think she's great. The only problem is she does feel the need to lie outrageously on dates - often with hilarious results.

But when Lucy decides that her flatmate and oldest friend, Henry, is in need of a makeover, nothing can prepare them for the surprise results! Before long, Lucy realises that their lives will never be the same again.

Far-Fetched Story About Emotional Incompetence

If ever you believed the British ‘stiff upper lip’ was helpful- books like this clearly show that being unable to express emotions are a very bad way to live!!
This novel has frustrating characters and an obvious plot line
Some laughs but even as a light diversion, this audiobook leaves you wanting to shake common sense into the characters
Costello has written in a hyperbolic way about putting on a facade when dating- but it drags on for far too long
The whole novel is rather frustrating, rife with emotional constipation and tediously long until the obvious end
Then the epilogue has a weird anti feminist slant plus a spurious dig at the materialistic western world.
No wonder the British Empire collapsed!!!
