Colleen Hoover, the New York Times best-selling author of Maybe Someday, brilliantly brings to life the story of the wonderfully hilarious and charismatic Warren in a new novella, Maybe Not.
When Warren has the opportunity to live with a female roommate, he instantly agrees. It could be an exciting change.
Or maybe not.
Especially when that roommate is the cold and seemingly calculating Bridgette. Tensions run high and tempers flare as the two can hardly stand to be in the same room together. But Warren has a theory about Bridgette: Anyone who can hate with that much passion should also have the capability to love with that much passion. And he wants to be the one to test this theory.
Will Bridgette find it in herself to warm her heart to Warren and finally learn to love?

"Characters extremely unlikable"
Maybe this is partly because I didn't realize this was part of a series, so I listened to this on it's own without any information from the other books, but I found it really hard to root for either character in the romantic pairing, and therefore found it really frustrating to listen to.
Warren can't pay his rent and spends all day lying around watching porn (and don't get me started on how disrespectful he was towards Bridget when he was trying to find her own porn video. What an invasion of her privacy!) I'm supposed to want this guy to get his girl? I'm supposed to think he's sexy? Was very turned off by him.
Bridget is not much better. She is rude to the point of nonsense. Is it realistic for her to be this way? I know we delve more into her character later and it is explained, but I still found her hard to deal with. I just couldn't understand why they liked each other, and found their sexual tension forced. I love this genre, but this book gave me none of the fun, romantic feelings that I was expecting.
The writing style itself is fine, and I think I could enjoy other books by this author with more likable characters. I did like the characters of Ridge, Brennan, and Sydney, so maybe their stories will appeal to me more.
The narration had some glitches- It was clear when the author would cut to another take for a few paragraphs, because the pitch of his voice would change, like he might have been standing farther away from the microphone.
Overall, barely worth the three dollar price tag.
"fantastic. love colleen Hoover"
I love all her books. She is fantastic, funny and I just fall in love with all the characters. I work at a barns and noble and I always recommend her books
Bridget because she was just so nuts and reminded me of myself.
This book was extremely funny and unexpected. This was a great short read and I want more books like this in the future.
I will be listening to another book from this author and perhaps all books from this author.
"A waste of $4"
The performance/reading was uninspired. Instead of reading the story with any ounce of genuine personality the reader used very unpleasant accents to differentiate the characters.
I am not disinterested in the genre after this experience, but I would hesitate to every listen to a book read by this narrator and the writing/plot was weak so I would also be hesitant to purchase another book from this author
"This is such a TERRIFIC BOOK & Storyline!"
This is the 2nd time I've listened to; and I enjoyed even more the 2nd!
"Great short read!"
I loved this book. Very entertaining! Didn't realize this was the story of the characters from another book. Glad I read the other book first, made this one better. Wish it was longer.
"it's a hot and funny story"
It's a hot and funny story. I enjoyed the character of Worren a lot. He is just good and fun. And Brigitte needed someone like him in her life. I really like the narrator, though there were parts of the book they didn't record very well.
"Taming of the Shrew? NOT!"
It's a fun, sexy romp when Warren finds his new roommate's bitchy ways irresistible. Only she isn't having any. Told from Warren's point of view, Hoover shows she knows the inside of the male head and heart.
Yes, this should have been combined with the first book.
Unless, it was combined with the first book.
What a great little addition to Maybe Someday! We meet Bridgette and Warren in the first book but this gives us a little history of them.
Brennan brings Bridgette into their home as the new roommate. Warren is a little suspicious of her motives with Brennan. After Brennan explains things to Warren he decides he wants her in a bad way. Not such an easy feat with the cantankerous Bridgette. Boy! She's a capital 'B' but she has her reasons for being that way. He's able to get beyond her walls and show her what love is.
I liked Warren in the first book but this one made me love him. He's kind, funny, ornery and determined. Bridgette was hard to like but this little peek inside her life made it more understandable. I hope we get to see more of them with a Brennan book?
We now understand the porn obsession Warren had! Good luck on your search, buddy :)
"Better than I expected"
I wasn't sure what to expect from this book but I had heard great things about the author so I gave it a try. My verdict? This maybe the hottest story I have ever read. With a romance that is a lot more realistic than you usually get.
Definitely recommend it to anyone who is unsure about Coleen Hoover.
It is nice to have a book where I can relate to the people and it felt like a more real life scenario. no major dramas to thicken the plot just good old fashioned romance -how it happens between normal..ish people.
some moments were laugh out loud funny, it felt like a guy wrote it as opposed to just narrating it so that's down to good writing.
The narration however did detract from the experience for me, I just didn't engage with his voice very well and there were moments were the tone changed like he stopped for a break (it was very obvious)
All in all a good listen, it improved the deeper you got into the characters.
"loved the story"
didn't like the narrators voice. he's no zachary webber. good story tho. shame not longer
I loved Warren! - hes funny, sarcastic, masculine but sensitive. Wonderful main character
