He is everything she wants to avoid....
For two years, Catherine Marks has been a paid companion to the Hathaway sisters — a pleasant position, with one caveat. Her charges’ older brother, Leo Hathaway, is thoroughly exasperating. Cat can hardly believe that their constant arguing could mask a mutual attraction. But when one quarrel ends in a sudden kiss, Cat is shocked at her powerful response — and even more so when Leo proposes a dangerous liaison.
She is not at all what she seems....
Leo must marry and produce an heir within a year to save his family home. Catherine’s respectable demeanor hides a secret that would utterly destroy her. But to Leo, Cat is intriguing and infernally tempting, even to a man resolved never to love again. The danger Cat tried to outrun is about to separate them forever — unless two wary lovers can find a way to banish the shadows and give in to their desires….

“Will leave you breathless.” (Romantic Times)
"A sharp-witted and sharp-tongued heroine closely guards the secret of her past from an equally determined hero with a few secrets of his own in the latest sinfully sensual, superbly written addition to Kleypas’ wickedly funny Hathaway series." (Booklist)

"An Excellent Series!"
Yes I truly enjoy audio books I enjoy hearing the different voices that make my imagination grow even more!
The romance the way Catherine and Leo would go back and forth with the underline passion just beneath the surface. You know they will end up together but you are keep guessing as to how it will all unravel. Which is very exciting!
Yes, in fact I did for the most part.
I would think so, since it is narrated by Rosalyn Landor.
I don't know. It's such an oft-repeated theme. Each book with a little different twist but quite predictable. Katherine's story was indeed a sad one, and I disliked Leo for taking advantage of her in her vulnerable state of mind. He loved her but he should have waited until she felt more secure, less fearful of the depraved man who had located her.
I've listened to her many times and never heard her give a bad performance.
I couldn't get into it that much because it reminded me too much of similar books I've heard. In a book I listened to recently the governesses charges were two young girls and she was hiding out as a governess because her father had betrothed her to a man she loathed. In "Married By Morning" Katherine was hiding from an evil man from her past, and her charges were young adults being groomed for their introduction into the Ton.
Lisa Kleypas is a very talented author, in my opinion, but I think she missed the mark with "Married by Morning". I would like to have listened to a book with a fresher theme.
