Publisher's Summary

Is it possible to expose Chicago’s hottest player - without getting played? The New York Times best-selling author of REAL brings you the first in a sexy new series.

This is the story I’ve been waiting for all my life, and its name is Malcolm Kyle Preston Logan Saint. Don’t be fooled by that last name, though. There’s nothing holy about the man except the hell his parties raise. The hottest entrepreneur Chicago has ever known, he’s a man’s man with too much money to spend and too many women vying for his attention.

Mysterious. Privileged. Legendary. His entire life he’s been surrounded by the press as they dig for tidbits to see if his fairytale life is for real or all mirrors and social media lie. Since he hit the scene, his secrets have been his and his alone to keep. And that’s where I come in.

Assigned to investigate Saint and reveal his elusive personality, I’m determined to make him the story that will change my career.

But I never imagined he would change my life. Bit by bit I start to wonder if I’m the one discovering him...or if he’s uncovering me.

What happens when the man they call Saint makes you want to sin?

I live in the outback Australia and so love to listen to a good raunchy kickass story where the female is tall strong and in total control.

    "Emotions and plenty of them"

I loved the book and than again I didn't. The didn't bit is the emotions rolling of Racheal, by the end of the book I felt like I was drowning in the god damn pool of soppy emotions. While I was listening to it I was wishing it would hurry up and move on, if I was reading the book, I would have skipped a few pages towards the end for sure. If you love books where they dissect very little feeling and sloppy emotion than you will love this one. Not sure if I can handle listening to the next one, I want to hear the rest of the story I enjoyed but I can see Racheal being a melting mess of emotions. Racheal shows straight but than again she doesn't. Not sure if I want to spend the money.
Narration was very good, the written word was well placed, I just felt like I was drowning towards the end of the story

    "OMG!!! Another cliffhanger? C'Mon!"
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would not recommend this book because it's a boring, disappointing cliffhanger. I'm returning this book post haste b/c I have no doubts that the ensuing books could have been combined too make 1good book.

What could Katy Evans have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

This book could've been more enjoyable w/o the repetitive, predictable inter-monologue, sure to be found in book 2. Thus proving, cliffhanger unnecessary.

    "Could not finish...."
Would you try another book from Katy Evans and/or Grace Grant?

This maybe a good book, but I just could not complete it. The narrators voice is very distracting and borderline annoying!

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

    Using a different narrator

Would you be willing to try another one of Grace Grant’s performances?

    God no

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

I'm not sure, I will have to buy the actual book to finish

    Story
"Absolutely terrible- and I love my guilty pleasures"

So I love a sexy funny romance as much as anyone- I am no snob and enjoy Dannika Dark, Christina Lauren, etc. I like fun and entertaining books while I am working out. So when I saw this book and how many amazing reviews it had, I had to buy it!

But I absolutely hated it and just returned it. The ENTIRE book plays out in Rachel's head, and what a tedious and boring place that is to be. Basically it is one long drawn out lusting-over-saint diatribe. There is nothing about Rachel - at all- that is likable. Good God girl, get it together.

Good books need action- tension- and a bit of brains to hold the whole thing together. This book was an absolutely painful gush fest over a hot and rich dude- told by a woman who calls herself a "slut" for masturbating! In a book called Manwhore! A woman who gets up to wash her hands afterwards. If it had been a physical book I would have thrown it across the room.

So basically the whole book is one long internal dialogue about a super hot guy, as told by a woman who seems to lack a few too many brain cells to care about. Even though I love my books guilty pleasures, this one was dull and excruciating.

Story is small and repetitive. Protagonist is unbelievable as a journalist and as a community volunteer. Unimaginative fabulously wealthy hero. Weak all over.

    "Drawn out..."
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I didn't enjoy this story as much as I thought I would. It's very long and drawn out with a predictable 'push and pull' between the main characters that just gets boring. Half way through, and not much had happened. Had a hard time getting through it. Lacked believability for me. Chose this story because of the high ratings. I really wanted to like it, but was rather disappointed.

Was Manwhore worth the listening time?

    Slow, and a tad boring.

    Story
"Another Lame Attempt at 50 Shades"
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Only someone obsessed with yet another story of an immature woman in her 20's becoming obsessed/ indifferent to a multi millionaire with the maturity of a 16 year old.

Has Manwhore turned you off from other books in this genre?

Yes. Now and then there are good books about mature love between two together adults, but this isn't it.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Grace Grant?

Someone with a more mature and more widely varied voice.

What character would you cut from Manwhore?

The central character. Many of the similar books to this get by because the central character is, in the end, more together than the guy. Not this one. There's no background on her romantic past, who she really is and why she's so easily taken by the so-called "Manwhore", who really isn't.

    Any additional comments?

Just can't handle another attempt to copy 50 Shades.

Nope, not from the author. The narration was fine.

    Yes.

    Any additional comments?

I so wanted to like this book. I was looking for a light, fun vacation read. It just such drivel that it's intolerable. Seriously, how long am I supposed to listen to this girl debate about whether or not she should sleep with the guy and then beat herself up over it? Just awful. I guess I got what I deserved for getting a book with this name.

Just a flat story of boy meets girl and vice versa. Nothing special. No suspense or anything to look forward for in the story. In fact the title does not fit the story. Try the Exposé next time.

    "OMG amazing"

Katie Evans did it again. This was a great start to the series. As always she followed her trademark way of writing and kept my interest from start to finish.

Not once I felt bored listening to this book. It was so good I didn't want to be bothered while listening. This is one of those books you are dreading that it's going to end and you are going to be left wanting more and you although want to listen to the story you want to prolong it as much as possible.

If you are thinking should I buy this? Should I spend the money on this? Are you in between this and another title?Buy this book. You're not going to regret listening to this. If you have already bought Katie Evans books before you know what I'm talking about and if not then you are about to get a roller coaster of emotions. She has a way with words, she has a way of making you part of the story, and you forget where you are and the only thing you are interested in is to know what is going to happen next.

The narrator was so suitable for this book. Grace Grant is an amazing narrator, she has a beautiful voice, she brings a lot of emotions into her reading. She is captivating and she completes this book.

The only downsize of this book is the major cliffhanger at the end and the fact that the sequence is not yet out, it becomes very frustrating waiting. If you're not into unfinished stories I suggest you wait for the entire series to come out and then buy all of them together but by all means, this is a GREAT book!!!!

    "Cringe"

No storyline, no connection, no chemistry - narrator's version of Saint's voice is embarrassing. The narrator even pronounces the work urgh instead of making the sound, she says urg.
It's embarrassingly cringey for females - her thoughts are horribly self deprecating and implicate that women are obsessive and desperate when they like a guy, no empowering female intuition here.

The title of this book might make you think it's cheap or tacky but it is not, but rather a throughly addictive and well written story. I'm interested to read the next book. With the cross fire and 50 Shades books the first book was definitely the best, I'll be interested to see if the same applies here. 😊

    "An extremely boring read. I"
    What disappointed you about Manwhore?

Based on other reviews, II also purchased the sequel to this book at the same time and it was marginally better but I think that the content of the story, taking in account all the repetitions, could easily have been condensed into one book.

What will your next listen be?

Any Georgette Heyer book to calm me down!!

What does Grace Grant bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Grace Grant could recite the alphabet and I would be happy to listen. She is a great narrator, although I half expected her to drop off with boredom having to read the same thing over and over.

You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    No!

    Any additional comments?

We read chick lit for the romance and a little tasteful erotica but every time the hero featured in this book you had to listen to a rundown on every aspect of how he looked and how gorgeous he was and this happened over and over again.
