The well-educated daughter of a lawyer, Trudy Bauer, arrives at the St. Louis based Mail-Order Brides of the West agency full of excitement for an adventure of a lifetime. She befriends the agency's maid, Evie Davenport, and the two form a strong and lasting friendship. They vow to stay in contact through letters when Evie takes hold of her destiny and arranges a marriage on the sly. Each brave young woman is ready to face whatever an unknown groom and life in Montana can throw her way.
In Fyffe's Novel, house servant Evie Davenport travels by stagecoach to Y Knot, Montana in a McCutcheon Family Novel. In Holland's book, bride-to-be Trudy Bauer rides the train to Sweetwater Springs, in a Montana Sky Novel. Through their correspondence, the friends keep each other abreast of their hardships, trials and tribulations - some of heartbreak, some of love.

"Such a sweet book!!!"
I love this series!!! Great narrators , sweet romance, love with a tough cowboy and a little turmoil to stir things up. What's not to love?! No harsh language. Just a great listen!!!
"The right letter."
I don't think that it was better than the print version, but listening to the book made me "see" things in a different way than reading it.
When Evie decided to make a new life for herself and become a Mail-Order Bride, instead of being the maid.
I believe that Evie was my favorite.
Mrs. Seymour, she cared for Evie's mother and continued to care for Evie after her mother died. Although Evie was afraid to tell Mrs. Seymour about the letters and her plans to travel west as a Mail-Order Bride, Mrs. Seymour still cared enough about Evie to travel to Montana to be sure that she was safe and happy.
"Mail Order Brides Gets Luck in Love!"
I haven't seen any other version but I don't feel I missed anything. Listening is nice and Lara Asmundson makes it nice to hear the story
When he came racing after Evie on his horse when she was just going to the mailbox.
I like Lara's narration because she actually makes it sould like Evie is reading me her story.
Since I listened to 'Trudy' first I was fascinated that both authors seem to find it important for the med to build their wives a chicken coop. Of course in this case, he just doesn't want to eat anymore potatoes. Lol
I would reacommend this series to anyone fascinated with the idea of women with no apparent prospects in their own towns, setting themselves up to marry a stranger in the 'wild' west. It has endless possibilities and these authors have captured the heart of the idea.
"Sweet story that sweeps the reader off her feet!"
Absolutely! Definately a wonderful story that uplifts and entertains.
Suspense over the romance coming together after misunderstanding. I could not stop listening to the story!
Loved Evie. I felt that Ms. Asmundson did an excellent job making all the characters come to life. Her interpretation of the characters was similiar to my own as I had already read the book myself.
Chance of a Lifetime.
Fyffe's books are uplifting and fun. They are just what I am looking for in a book. Her stories bring out the underlying goodness in people and inspire a person to be kinder to others.
"A DELIGHTFUL TALE OF LOVE AND LIFE!"
Delightful, heartwarming and intriguing!
Oh, I don't know, I loved Evie's innocence, her determination for a better life and her willingness to leave the past in the past. But then, Chance,is a strong hero, who wants to have a life of his own without using his family's name and power.
Her voice is smooth, relaxing and powerful, which in turn makes the story interesting and magical.
I laughed and cried. There was a wide variety of emotions throughout this story.
I would highly recommend this story for anyone who enjoys Western Historical Romance, Montana history, finding HEA and a great story.
A really sweet and innocent story. not very deep but still a good and entertaining story
Loved the characters and narrator! Great story. It is great how these two authors work together to create this series. Caroline Fyfe and Debra Holland. Now go read Trudy!
I decided to read the McCutcheon Family series because a review compared Fyffe's writing style to Catherine Anderson who I love. I have not been disappointed! Caroline paints a picture in your mind, makes you laugh, & causes you to want to know what happens to her beloved characters. I highly recommend this series.....I will read / listen to all of them!
It was a wonderful story and very well told
I liked the characters and how they had to work to build a life together
You can hear the emotions and then you can feel them
Yes when Chance thought Evie was going to leave him, it made me hold my breath and I wanted to yell at them to just sit down and talk to each other lol
I really liked this book and Lara Asmundson makes it comes to life
This Series IS AMAZING!! I love this World Caroline Fyffe has made for us & draws is into!! I love how you can read the Series in Order OR you can Read them in whatever order you want and they still make sense!! I can't get enough of her books!! It was a Unique change having Lara as the Narrator BUT UNIQUE IN A GOOD WAY!! Evi's story is a good 1!! This book is worth your credit!
