Handsome, wealthy resort owner Treat Braden is used to getting what he wants. When Max Armstrong walked into his life six months earlier, he saw right through the efficient and capable facade she wore like a shield, to the sweet, sensual woman who lay beneath. She sparked an unfamiliar desire in him for more than a one-night stand, leaving his heart reeling and his blood boiling. But one mistake caused her to turn away, and now, after six months of longing for the one woman he cannot have, he's going home to try to forget her all together.
Max Armstrong has a successful career, a comfortable lifestyle, and she's never needed a man to help her find her way - until Treat Braden caught her attention at a wedding in Nassau, causing a surge of emotions too reminiscent of the painful past she'd spent years trying to forget. Max will do anything to avoid reliving that pain - including forgoing her toe-curling, heart-pounding desire for Treat. When a chance encounter turns into a night of intense passion, Treat realizes that the mistake he made six months earlier may cause him to lose Max completely. He will do everything within his power to win her heart forever - and Max is forced to face her hurtful past head on for the man she cannot help but love.

I believe it's to close to call.. I love books. I love reading. This was the first time I used an Audio book and I was very pleased. I loved how having someone read to me, made the book come alive.
I am a Melissa Foster fan. All her books are captivating, amazing, and a chance to escape for a while.
B.J. Harrison helps bring the book to life. He is an exquisite narrator. I would love to listen to him again.
Two hearts that beat as one.
"This is a listen to over, and over, and over."
I was gifted this audio book by the author. Oh how I love this series, and Max and Treat just made me love it even more.
We saw the first hints of a Max/Treat match in Sisters in White. Treat is the super handsome, super single, super millionaire resort owner who officiated the marriage of Max's boss, Chaz and her friend and confidant, Kaylie White. There had been a horrible storm on the island where one of Treat's resorts is located and the minister was unable to get to the ceremony so Treat stepped in and did the deed for them. But I digress - - -
Max is super in her own right. She is the super-efficient assistant who pulls together her company's annual film festival, which has grown to be one of the biggest festivals in the country. Thanks, in part, to Max's super organizational skills and her dedication to her job. She rarely takes time for herself, but on that island trip to Chaz and Kaylie’s wedding, the minute she locks eyes with Treat her life changes. Not exactly for the better though.
As in any good romance, Treat and Max have issues that rear their ugly heads almost as soon as they realize their connection to each other. Treat's biggest fear has always kept him from letting himself fall for one woman, there is only one person who can help him understand and move beyond his fear, and that person just happens to be where Max is.
Max's one experience with a serious relationship did not end well and has left her with major trust issues, one of them being that she doesn't really even trust her own choices. She had let those feelings go when she met Treat, but he broke her heart with just one look and she has retreated back behind the protective walls she's built around her heart.
Max and Treat's story held me captive, keeping me wondering if they would ever be able to put their pasts behind them and finally share their lives, if it were even a possibility. Their story was so compelling that I spent most of the day yesterday with headphones attached because I could not stop listening. B.J. Harrison does an excellent job narrating all the characters. If you have not read this series you are truly missing out on something very special. I highly recommend the Love in Bloom series, and especially Max and Treat's book, Lovers at Heart.
"What a delicious Treat this was!! (pun intended)"
Definitely in the top 10 and I've listened to over 50.
I would compare it to the other Melissa Foster books in the Braden or Remington series or Bella Andre's Sullivan series. If you love to listen to incredibly sexy and heartfelt romance surrounding a particular family with a guaranteed HEA, this is definitely for you!
B.J. has a lovely tone to his voice and can rock the heck out of female character voices, put the sweet and sexy into the male voices and also do all kinds of accents! He's just wonderful to listen to.
I can't pick out just one moment, this book is just full of incredible moments to cherish and remember.
You absolutely cannot go wrong with this book or series.
Love Melissa Foster! Love this series! Love B.J. Harrison!
"Another great book...."
Another fantastic reading by BJ Harrison and of course Melissa Fosters book Lovers at Heart was great, but I will say I want to smack these women...while the story is great these women need some head smacking. But listening to Bj read this book I can so get past Max's insecurities, thankfully she gets it together. So as always this audiobook was awesome and I loved listening to it. I love that this family is so close but sometimes they are a little to nosey and pushy and that can be annoying but thankfully it's not the entire book. Also I'm thankful for how Melissa writes about all of them and keeps you up to date on everyone else from previous stories. Thank god Mr Braden finally spoke up and put those boys in place. Took long enough and the up and down kept you listening to see what would happen next. Kinda keeps you on pins and needles. Thank you Melissa for another good book and thanks for keeping BJ Harrison as your reader. He is fantastic at it. I look forward to more readings by him!!!
"Slow down and feel."
This is the first book I've listened to as an audio book. It actually was pretty interesting.
Melissa's books are all expertly written and you can definitely tell her writing apart from other authors.
No I have not.
I LOVE Treat and Max as a couple. I feel just about ever reaction and feeling that each character does throughout the book.
The only thing I would suggest is using a male AND female to narrate...giving a voice to both point of views.
"Great start to the next portion of this series!"
I enjoyed this first installment of the Bradens in the Love in Bloom series and was not disappointed in this story. I enjoyed the emphasis of family throughout the book as well as the fate factors with the characters Treat and Max. I enjoyed watching the pair navigate their way to their HEA with a few bumps in the road along the way. I enjoyed the narration of this book by BJ Harrison as it flowed well and he made it easy to differentiate between the different characters not once leaving me confused as to who was speaking. Also with the narration of this book I was able to picture some of the scenes better than when I had originally read this book a few years ago. I enjoyed this book from start to finish and would recommend it to others in any format but especially the audio one.
Though the narrator was awesome. I personally prefer to read the book.
Max the ever strong heroine.
"Love for Lovers at Heart"
Wow!!! Lovers at Heart is such a great read but to actually listen to it is even better!!! BJ Harrison does a wonderful job bringing this book to life! Max & Treat's story is one of the best so far!!! I love that Max is such a strong independent woman. Max having a secret past just adds to the character's complexity! One of the very best parts of this series is that you can catch up on your previous favorite couples in each new book!!
"Love having the book read to me!"
Treat and Max having been dancing around each other for 6 months. Once they connect the their demons are not far from the surface. Can they face them in order to find love?
Listening to this story really brought it to life for me. B. J. Harrison has a perfect voice for books. Very easy to listen to.
"Fun read exploring complexity of new relationships"
Lovers at Heart is a wonderful roller coaster ride to follow as a reader. If you read Melissa's "Snow Sisters" series, we met Treat and Max under the context of their work and the roles they play with their friends/family. If this is your first introduction to Melissa Foster's books (or this series), don't fear--the story is a stand alone and explores the characters, the "fire" between them, and the real world relationship struggles that new couples can go through--but will their love be enough? I love this story and I actually recently re-read it. There are some side characters in the book that show up in other books by Melissa! Edited to add: I just listened to the audiobook version of this book. My first audiobook ever! I am hooked. I loved being able to just get lost in the story. The narrators voice was very soothing. It took some getting used to hearing the characters voices all done by the same person as I have not listened to a book before. I will be downloading some other favorites and some new ones to try!
"Another awesome audiobook"
This book made me laugh, cry and swoon so much especially hearing it on audio book. So totally worth listening to.
