Paul Martinez is run ragged by the demands of managing his family's landscaping business and his mother's battle with dementia, and it's been so long since he had sex - he can't remember the last time. The arrival of nurse Hope Russell brings some much needed help to Paul and his brother, Alex, in taking care of their ill mother, but Hope's presence sparks a whole new problem for Paul - lusting after one of his employees, something his late father would never condone.
Hope and her young son, Ethan, really need this second chance on Gansett Island, and she's determined to make her new job work for both of them. Kissing her boss, however, was not part of the plan. The more time she spends with Paul, the more she admires the way he cares for his mother and the attention he pays to her son. But when Paul finds out about her shameful past, will he still want her and Ethan in his life?

I've listen to the whole series and having new narrators really distracts from the story for me. The new female narrator is choppy and it sounds like she's reading. The accents don't sound right and the male narrator just isn't as masculine sounding as the previous one. He can't pull off the Mac McCarthy character at all. I have been looking forward to this release for quite a while and I was really disappointed. I apologize for being negative.
"I loved it.I want to listen to all of the books"
It was a great book and spoken very well. I liked and will buy more of the books to listen to from this same author.
"Love after dark..... !!!!"
Marie Force is simple an outstanding and very creative author with amazing skills. Her books are awesome both in print and audible!
"Not my favorite."
I love Marie Force and the series, but I felt that there were too many subplots and that the narrator did not distinguish enough between the characters for me to follow along.
"Great story- Narrator a little eh."
I loved the story for what it was (even though I must admit I'm getting a little *yawns* about all of these characters falling in love and getting engaged within a damn week- that shouldn't be a spoiler, come on- like you aren't expecting them to have a HEA!) but the narrator threw me off a bit. I LOVED her accent for Jenny- thought it was spot on. But the Ned one just.... no. I will say though- between her and the original narrator that has done all of the rest.... I prefer her because the other sounds like.... well the only way to describe it is like her nose is stopped up. It was too distracting and took me out of the moment. If she could work on her Ned accent I wouldn't have a single problem with her.
Paul and Hope are both really likable characters and I did enjoy the story. My grandmother suffered from Alzheimer's so this one hit pretty close to home. I still love and enjoy this series even though they're starting to become predictable. I think half of the island is now pregnant- and I know it before they even say it. It's nice, however, to see some of them are now starting to deal with REAL issues- to show that it's not always hearts and bows once they get their happily ever after.
"Great story; bad narration!!"
Love her books!!!! Wish she would get better narrators!! There are so many to choose from!!
"Good book and series"
Did not like the change of the narrator from previous books in the series otherwise enjoyed book
"Tragedy to happy ending"
I do recommend this audiobook. Sweet romance with a much better narrator than the one in the other books in the series.
Pauls visit to Hope in his underwear was memorable. Also memorable is the relationship of Paul with Hope's son Ethan.
The narrator brings the characters alive. Wish she had recorded the other books in the series. I usually love to re-read books in a series before reading a new book however, I disliked the prior narrator so much I have no desire to listen again.
Didn't read in one sitting but did read in two days.
"Catch Up on Old Friends, Gain New"
I didn't read the print version
I really got a kick out of the prank the women pulled on the men on the bachelor/bachelorette party night!
Holly Fielding - the original narratorI didn't mind Felicity as much for the new characters, but for most of the major characters from previous books she was WAY OFF! I especially disliked the Blaine Taylor voice. I also did not like the voice of Slim -- she made him sound like he was a hick -- and not someone that Erin would like. The only one that I think she did better than Holly was Ned.
The change in narrator really disappointed me.
I enjoyed the characters that were introduced in this book, but I'll think twice about getting the audio version if the narrator isn't changed.
"So disappointed in the narration"
Love the story. If you are a Gansett Island fan you can't miss it.
Absolutely. I usually listen to the Gansett Island books in one day, this one took four. I would get so aggravated with the narrator I would have to take a break. Poor Evan McCarthey...tall, good looking, country star sounded like Mickey Mouse!
I wish I would have read it, instead of listening.
