The king of Wall Street is brought to his knees by an ambitious bombshell.
I keep my two worlds separate. At work, I'm King of Wall Street. The heaviest hitters in Manhattan come to me to make money. They do whatever I say because I'm always right. I'm shrewd. Exacting. Some say ruthless. At home, I'm a single dad trying to keep his 14-year-old daughter a kid for as long as possible. If my daughter does what I say, somewhere there's a snowball surviving in hell. And nothing I say is ever right.
When Harper Jayne starts as a junior researcher at my firm, the barriers between my worlds begin to dissolve. She's the most infuriating woman I've ever worked with. I don't like the way she bends over the photocopier - it makes my mouth water. I hate the way she's so eager to do a good job - it makes my dick twitch. And I can't stand the way she wears her hair up exposing her long neck. It makes me want to strip her naked, bend her over my desk, and trail my tongue all over her body. If my two worlds are going to collide, Harper Jayne will have to learn that I don't just rule the boardroom. I'm in charge of the bedroom, too.
King of Wall Street is a sexy, standalone romance.

I know we could all listen to SebYo reading a phone book and swoon, but honestly when he's paired with Arni Arndt you just know a good book will be turned into a brilliant audiobook! And this audiobook definitely deserves all the accolades its received.
The characters are 3-dimensional, butting heads because of blurred perspective and stubbornness, while the realisation that there's something more than physical attraction brewing between them only comes through their interactions with others. And those others are great characters in their own right, woven into the story with purpose but also given enough depth to be truly memorable. The dialogue is witty and natural, translating perfectly into audio, and the story itself is really terrific. This audiobook left me feeling happy - without my teeth hurting from too much of the sugary stuff! When written this well, there's just something surprisingly feel-good about a devoted (& super sexy, high-achieving, successful businessman) single dad having his teenage daughter trying to hook him up so she can get a baby sister! Such an easy 5-star rating!!
Five stars all the way, the story was awesome. The narrator's are a great combination. Loved everything about this story, the beginning, the middle, the end and then the epilogue. One click.
"Checkmate! A Win-Win Story and Narration!"
This is the first story I've listened to by Louise Bay and it ticked off everything I love in a steamy romance. A captivating plot, well developed characters, realistic dialogue, chemistry and some very steamy sex scenes. King of Wall Street was a heart warming plot who's H/h had a funny and rocky start, but things quickly heat up as the sexual tension between them ignite. Bay did an outstanding job developing the chemistry and romance between these characters.
Harper has inspired to work for Max King. She's followed his career and while going to college she has groomed herself to be a perfect fit for his firm. When she lands her dream job at this firm as a junior assistant, her "new career bliss" is shattered. She quickly learns King is infuriating, demanding, and critical of her work, even if he gets her heart racing.
Max King knows he's hard on Harper. He doesn't intentionally try to be harder, but he's been attracted to her from the beginning and is trying to keep their working relation professional and distance between them. Up till now, he's done a good job keeping his personal life separate from his business life. When he learns she lives in the same apartment as him, he disregards all his rules when she some comes knocking on his door to confront him about the loud noise he is making in nothing but a silk robe. Their heated kisses turn into amazing sex. They find themselves trying to balance work and their "extracurricular" activates, but things get a little complicated when his daughter starts looking towards Harper for assistance with her upcoming prom and King lands an opportunity with a client who happens to also be Harper's father.
I'll be honest, Sebastian York and Andi Arndt are one of the main reason's I took a chance on this story. These veteran narrators know how to deliver an awesome performance.
Fans of Lauren Blackely, Winter Renshaw and Meghan March would enjoy this story. It was steamy, sweet, heart-warming, and well worth a credit. I enjoyed it from start to finish and will definitely be looking for more audios by Bay.
"You are beautiful. He squinted as he said it. As if he couldn't quite believe it."
This book was unrealistic and as you can see above it seems as though I'm in minority with my low ratings. I really was hoping to like this book but I can not say I enjoyed this book. This book is not well written. I was bored out of my mind. Simple story, uninteresting characters, and completely non engaging. Louise Bay has written this book like a woman writing a male character and not doing a good job at it. I did not enjoy this book and so I can not recommend it.
I just love these narrators. Made it ok to listen to the entire book. But just sort of average story. A 3.5 would have been a more appropriate rating.
"LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF THIS BOOK!"
This book was the perfect mix of off the charts sexiness, humor, and romance that makes you literally say 'awwwww'. Max was my favorite hands down; his relationship with his sisters and daughter was hilarious and heart melting all at once. The dynamic between him and Harper was not your typical one, and it was a joy to see how things unfolded for them. Well written, strong characters---bravo Louise Bay!---i will be a repeat offender with any book by Louise Bay from here on out. Highly recommended!
"Great read, or listen!!!"
The narrators made this book come to life. It drew me in from the very start! Great plot but I wish there was a sequel!!!
"Reminds me of Beautiful Bastard"
Great story never a dull moment. Can't wait to hear more from this author. Specially if they use the same narrators.

"I LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS LISTEN"
Are you ready for Max King? because Harper certainly wasn't.. oh she'd researched and followed his Company with the sole purpose of landing her dream job. But the reality was that he was a jerk.. a charismatic, handsome and drool-worthy jerk who deliberately ignored her and frustratingly went out of his way to avoid her - which was infuriating because she was meant to be working for him. However, it was Max that was secretly getting hot under his collar every time he saw his new and beautiful employee because she was a distraction and constantly on his mind.. and it wasn't at all work related!
Harper was independent but had some serious Daddy issues.. in that he was a rich business tycoon who'd got her Mother pregnant, threw money at the situation rather than any of his time.. and then went on to rinse and repeat. Harper had a Trust Fund he'd set up but she never touched it - deciding that she was going to cut him from her life. But when Max King appointed her to work on a presentation to win her Father's account Harper decided to show her Father what he'd tossed away. But getting closer to Max King was going to be the best and worst thing she'd ever done because Harper learnt that he was nothing like the villain she'd pictured him to be... and everything she didn't know she wanted.
I consumed this story like a tub of Ben & Jerry's... and then savoured in the afterglow. The characters were great - especially Max who was devoted to his 14 yr old daughter, then his Sisters, the Company and nothing much else.. until Harper. Once Max and Harper had 'broken the ice' between them (in a most fevered way) - there was no stopping the sexcapades.. but underneath the sex were two lovers who didn't know what they'd found. Because rather than move forward Harper was still that wounded little girl looking to impress her long absent Father and yet deep down she felt resentment and anger - and Max was a Business Mogul who'd never stopped long enough to let love in.
Worth a credit? The dual POV storyline had heat, heart, angst, drama and heartbreak - the main and secondary characters were loveable and nice - the Hero was everything you'd want from one and the expert narration by Sebastian York and Andi Arndt hit it out of the park. So creditworthy... oh YEAH - even if this 'sex to angst to love' listen was totally implausible in the real world - I didn't care as I love to get lost in romantic fiction.
"Great Narration. Story not so much."
Well, I am in the minority here with my review. This story is sooo typical and written too many times. Sorry people but really?
Its insta lust of two people that know nothing about each other and are in love from just having sex. Yep that is the story line. No mystery, no getting to know each other. Just plain ole attraction. Over these types of books. I really struggled getting through this one. It was so boring.
As for the narration, well that was the only thing that kept me listening. Sebastian York and Andi Arndt are great. But really, I wish they would move into some different genre's of narrations. And not these typical sex books with very little ultra boring story lines. They deserve better stories to narrate. Just sayin..
The narration was amazing. Two of my very favorites. The story is hilarious from start to finish. Highly recommend this book
"lovely story, would listen again"
Very nicely balanced story with a little drama and enough hot stuff to keep it interesting but not so much that it becomes dull, well balanced so many books of this genre aren't hence 5 ☆
Harper is a great lead lady and it's nice that King was just a steady guy with a teenage daughter, I loved the interplay between dad and daughter.
I have listened to this book 3 times just love it. The complete series of these books are just amazing could not put them down, and I have listen to them several times. Thank you Louise Bay from🇬🇧
The story and plot was easy to follow, especially with both of the narrator's voices.
When Harper discovers that her boss is also her neighbour...ooh lala!!
I've only listened to a few audio books and I liked them all.
"A true sexy office romance to get lost in."
I just loved this standalone so much. The story is beautifully written in dual POV. You know the story, two people not in the market for love, fighting the pull that they feel every time they see each other. Harper is hard headed, strong, independent and beautiful. Max is, well, what is Max? He's strong, sexy, successfully, charismatic, a fantastic father, a true family man, loyal, did I say sexy, handsome and a complete and utter God? Oh and did I say sexy as hell? I was hooked from the get-go. Light, easy, fun and flirty. A true sexy office romance to get lost in. The narrator's are perfect, got the characters nailed. Got to say, can't go wrong with Sebastian York, ever! Thank you Ms Bay.
