An unexpected inheritance offers Libby Pullford the chance to escape her unhappy, abusive marriage and return to her Lancashire roots with her young son, Ned. But her domineering husband, Steven, won’t let her go so easily. The one person she can turn to for help is her new neighbour, former police detective Joss Atherton, to whom Libby feels a growing attraction. But Joss has troubles of his own.
Meanwhile, Emily Mattison is enjoying newfound domestic happiness with her fiancé, Chad. The only blot on the horizon is the fact that she’s been unable to make contact with the daughter she lost many years before. Libby and Emily’s lives are destined to intertwine in ways they could never have imagined.

"Enjoyable read if…"
This was a satisfying story of compassion versus evil. However, in order to enjoy it, you have to be able to overlook the fact that the narrator makes all the male characters - even the good guys – sound highly suspect.
"In The Seach of Hope"
Informative what I have Said to people before, no one can tell what happens behind closed doors. most of us just want to get on pay our bills, and have a happy home life.
It is unbelievable but nearly half as many men are beaten as women. So it is not only a wife that can go through hello if men as well.
The husband was also disliked by his colleagues. Good read?
a few tears for both the happy and sad moments but very worth listening too. I love Anna Jacobs, no bad book so far.
