Publisher's Summary

In Matheson's vampire classic I Am Legend, a plague has decimated the world and transformed the unfortunate survivors into bloodthirsty creatures of the night. Robert Neville is the last living man on Earth. Every other man, woman, and child has become a vampire hungry for Neville's blood. By day he is the hunter, stalking the sleeping undead through the abandoned ruins of civilization. By night he barricades himself in his home and prays for the dawn. How long can one man survive in a world of vampires?

Nothing like the movie

If it wasn't titles I am legend and had a pic of WIll Smith on the cover I would say, it's a little like that I am legend movie but not.... seriously you could make a movie out of this book and not get the two films mixed up. The book felt very short and the Other stories are not worth the time.

I am legend lives up to the title

The main story here is I Am Legend, and it deserves all the praise it has received as a classic in the sci-fi horror genre. Such a tight and concise story, with a fully fleshed out character. This alone is worth the price of admission!

The other stories are a bit of a mixed bag. Some I lost interest in quite quickly, while others were captivating from the get go. Anyone who has seen Trilogy of Terror on the TV will instantly recognise the brilliant Prey. From Shadowed Places and Person to Person were also highlights.

This collection is well worth your time.
