He is powerless to fight his attraction to the lass who saved his life, but he's vowed never to fall in love again. Convinced a family curse hangs over his head, he fights his feelings for Brenna. More romance than the first book, Rescued By a Highlander' but the story line was similar. Very dramatic and typical of a romance novel. I'm not going to venture onto the next in the series as it hasn't captured my attention enough.
I loved this story. Antony took me away into the clan & their lives.
Thank you for your talented way you gave each character their own individual personalities.
This was my first Highlander book & will definitely read & listen to many more. Keira Montclair thank you for the seductive way you write & the passion you gave Brenna & Laird Quaid. I loved the inclusion of the children, the healer & diagnosis of the wheat allergy.
I found it difficult to turn of the story to do other chores or even go to bed.
I almost passed on this second book in the ‘Clan Grant’ series because the ratings were all over the scale, but I’m glad I took a chance.
This book is different than many Highlander stories in that it concentrates more on issues within the clan rather than Highland battles between clans. Its a touching story with many heartwarming scenes that, unless your heart is made of stone, are sure to bring a tear to your eye.
Quade is Laird to his clan and deeply loves his family. Brenna is a revered and dedicated healer who doesn’t back down from a challenge. Their romance is sweet and progresses into a deep and tender love. The secondary characters add charm, wit, and many poignant moments to this emotional story.
This one is worth a try if you enjoy tender—heartwarming stories. ;-)
first book in a long time I couldn't stop listening to. while this is the second book in a series, i look forward to hearing more.
"Fun and easy read"
Good story line, fun and fast. Ending was not predictable. Really enjoyed it!
I loved the children and the main character was very smart and strong.
He did a good job, his voices were not extraordinary but were believable.
"Love those Highlanders!"
I've actually listened to this book two times already. Very enjoyable story line and a good narrator makes the book a good read! Characters continue from one book to the next but each story stands alone as well.
Enjoyed finding characters I'd read about in a prior Highlander book so it's on going but the story line stands on it's own and each story is unique.
He does a good job differentiating between the characters so you know who's talking etc.
"Another Engaging Highland Story"
I would recommend this book to any Highland romance reader. It has action, suspense, romance - everything you need for a good read.
Breanna was the main character and I was already interested in reading more about her after reading Rescued By a Highlander, the previous one in this series.
I love his accent when he is doing the dialog of the men and reading non-dialog. I agree with other reviewers somewhat about his female dialog and it would be better with dual narrators but after the first few pages I get used to him and enjoy the narration very much.
I tried very hard to. I downloaded it to my phone so I could listen while I went about my day. I prefer the longer books because I never want them to end.
Highland books are my favorite. I do prefer a bit more history about day to day duties of the household staff but romance still gets me every time.
Book was awesome I would definitely recommend this series for anyone who truly loves a Highland romance novel.
I didn't expect this to be the second book because book one ended with another lady being taken or lead to the Grant's keep but I absolutely loved Brenna's story. I was listening to the book and immediately thought about Celiac disease. Those kids made me want to laugh and cry at the same time! Loved, loved this book in the series and can't wait for Book 3.
Over the story was okay but at times the kids voices were annoying. I was not impressed with the laird he did not have an alpha personality and seemed too passive most times. Spoiler When he sent his son away because he was sick. Really? The kid was confined to a cottage for years without seeing Outside. Pissed me off how he treated his kids. I could not get into this one. Not my favorite highlander book.
"on to next bool"
story line very similar to the first book. need more variety in the story. good read overall
Great story and wonderful narration. It's good to hear a book that has people with flaws.
"I realised so far through that I had read all this"
series they are all good stories however I did not enjoy this as much it may have been I remembered to much so no mystery left.
