Publisher's Summary

Go Set a Watchman is set during the mid-1950s and features many of the characters from To Kill a Mockingbird some 20 years later.

Scout (Jean Louise Finch) has returned to Maycomb from New York to visit her father, Atticus. She is forced to grapple with issues both personal and political as she tries to understand both her father's attitude toward society and her own feelings about the place where she was born and spent her childhood.

An instant classic.

Don't ruin your memory of Atticus Finch

Ruined arguably one of the best literary characters of all time..not even Reese Witherspoon's narration could save this.

A sad sequel

Unfortunately this novel did not live up To Kill a Mockingbird: maybe she needed Truman?

Slow. Disappointing after to kill a mockingbird

If this book wasn’t for you, who do you think might enjoy it more?

I was expecting so much more from this. Slow to start and never really got going

What was most disappointing about Harper Lee’s story?

Nothing happened

Have you listened to any of Reese Witherspoon’s other performances? How does this one compare?

I haven't but she was a great narrator

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Nothing

Ruined Mockingbird for me

Well read but honestly, just ruined my favourite book. Proceed with caution. Naration was excellent.

Don't do it

I want my 7 hours back. What a terrible novel. I have to applaud the narrator for attempting to make it engaging. I felt nothing for the characters in this story as opposed to feeling everything for them in the original novel. I am really disappointed in a story that should have been a novella but just dragged on and on and on.

The connection between the original story and this continuation

Reese Witherspoon was the perfect narrator. She captured the essence of the characters. The ending didn’t leave me disappointed. Very satisfying.

Brilliant

Wonderfully read by southern Hollywood megastar actor Reese Witherspoon.
Brilliant story, so much to learn still.

This narration brings the story to life

Wow, with a voice like butter, this narration brings the story to life- she beautifully covers the cast of characters and helps this story along..
