"Predictable but enjoyable"
Good book, a little long. Very predictable, yet heartwarming.
"Quite enjoyable for an easy listen"
No. Only because I never miss a word when I'm listening.
I don't want to give the story away. Just the part about her friend that she lived with
The father! Emma made him sound the way he should be
No negative comments at all. Listening to this book made me search out more from the author and the narrator
This is the second one I've listened to, by this lovely woman. Totally engaging! Vibrant descriptions of 1960's London - so good I thought I'd lived it myself. A bit predictable in places, but the main character is so lovable, I easily over looked it. Can't wait to start in on the next one.
"A wonderful listen.."
Listening to Georgia was wonderful as the story kept evolving. Lots of splendid details.
The way that it was a listen that just wanting you to keep on listening. Never a dull moment during the story.
It is difficult to choose a favorite scene but I did like hearing about the beginning of Georgias singing career and her interaction with the band.
I was moved by many situations in the book. It is simply a very good story and I can highly recommend it.
I loved the narration and this story ought to be made into a TV serial. It would be an instant hit :-)
"Georgia by Lesley Pearce"
Gripping storyline, very well read, not a good one to go to bed with though, it will keep you awake listening to a graphically described plot!!
very good read, one of my first audio books and i enjoyed every minute so much so that I got another book from the same Author.
Great story, great narration, really enjoyed that it was so nice and long! Wish there was more!
"A beautiful sztory"
Loved the story. although too much resemblance with "The Stepping Stones". the naration is perfect, an easy listening
brilliant story had me in tears well worth reading can't wait to read more books
"Easy story to listen to"
I found the story easy to
get involved with, but too sugary in places. The storyteller male voices were hard to stomach at times.
Georgia character was not at times convincing.
"What a superb listen"
Throughout all of this listen when I was completely engaged. I'm not going to talk about the plot and spoil it for you - just listen for yourself.
What I can say is that Georgia is a most wonderful character, surrounded by other characters who were so well described I could see them so clearly. The story is frightening, funny and heartwarming.
A long story, but never dull or boring.
Lastly, the narration is superb. Such warmth, fear, anger, hatred and love completely encompassed by the wonderful Emma Powell.
Indeed, an excellent read.
"Suspenseful and beautiful."
I loved the story and the way the Characters were developed. I also loved Georgia's compassion despite what happened to her in her past. I also enjoyed how everything was slowly revealed in the story making me want to keep listening although I did guess who her real farther was going to be quite early on when he was introduced.
I can't think of a book off hand but I would compare it to books by Josephine cox and Susan Lewis. It had a bit of everything in it.
I thought she did a fantastic job with all the characters. There was not one I could really choose.
Yes, I could not put it down once i started. If it had been a shorter book I would have listened to it all in one go for sure.
A fantastic book and a fantastic author. Lesley Pearse is one of my favourite authors and I could tell when I read this book that i would want to read more. I have since read other books by this author.
The narrator was awful, every voice sounded exactly the same. It was dreadful. Story typical Lesley Pearce .... Conveyor belt writing
