Publisher's Summary

Christopher Allan Roberts thought he had a promising future: captain of the football team with the promise of a scholarship to play for Alabama, his high school sweetheart and best friend for as long as he could remember, Amanda, by his side, and the love and support of his family. One night, one mistake changed everything. Chris moves to New York, adrift and alone. A walk one night brings him to the flashing lights, loud music and thrumming bodies at Club Berlin. A flyer in the men's room promises fame and fortune for anyone willing to go on camera and have sex, with another man. Money is money, and how hard could it be, right? Christopher Allan Roberts becomes Kris Alen, All Cocks' newest addition, a gay for pay porn star.

Lincoln Carter is honest with everyone in his life, including his family, about who he is and about his sexual preferences. Linc Larson, the openly bisexual gay porn star, will do anything with anyone, which pretty much writes his ticket in a versatility-charged industry. It's not his sexuality that interferes with his personal life; it's his inability to trust. What Linc wants right now, more than anything, is the chance to do a scene with All Cocks' newest acquisition, Kris Alen. Six-foot-two with auburn hair, an exquisitely toned and inked up body, Kris Alen is sex personified. Linc doesn't know if it's the "I want the shiny new toy" aspect that calls to him, or the distant and wounded expression that haunts Kris's eyes.

Linc figures out early on that Kris is only working the gay for pay angle that All Cocks brings to his bank account. Can a bisexual man with trust issues break down the barriers that Kris has built around himself and help Christopher overcome the painful past he is running from?

Where does Gay for Pay rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Gay for Pay is the best audiobook that I've listened to so far. I was looking for a quick wank, but was surprised to find a charming story with lovable characters.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Gay for Pay?

I loved all of the comedic dialogues between the guys.

Have you listened to any of Tony Clark’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is the first Tony Clark performance I've listed to, and I found it to be fluid and evoking a sultry leather-filled lounge.

"Hot men...what more is there to say?"

Having the main character already friends with a gay male, it makes the transition for him more believable. Although he did seem to go from just modelling to getting it on with gusto quite quickly, it didn't seem wrong or forced. The storyline was dealt with in a way that was an easy listen and drew you in with the descriptive writing. Having Tony Clark's nice voice to listen to didn't hurt either.

    "Great story good narration"

Kris kills his girlfriend by driving drunk in his last year of high school. He loses all his friends, family, the scholarship, everything. He’s devastated and broke. While living on friends’ couches in New York he finds Gay For Pay and decides to go for it – he’s got nothing to lose.

Linc is happy with his life as a bi-sexual porn star – but leery of relationships since his last boyfriend cheated on him with one of his co-stars.

They don’t hook up right away, but instead become friends. As that friendship grows so do their feelings. Even in this industry, they manage to keep sex out of their relationship for a very long time. When Kris finally admits to his feelings, Linc is already right there with him.

The question now is – where do they go from here?

    **

This was such a surprising book! It was not at all what I was expecting. Having read a few “gay for pay porn” books, I was expecting Kris and Linc to be hooked up from the start and for them to fall for one another that way. Instead… Gabe is the wonderfully sweet guy who introduces Kris to his gay porn career and he ends up really being a great friend.

I loved the seemingly honest look at gay for pay that we get here. Kris struggles to stay hard at times, he still wants to date women, he likes Gabe because he’s so feminine in nature… but he truly likes Linc as a person and that’s what initially attracts him.

I think this is one of the few books out there that put forth a compelling “demi-sexual” story in that I do believe Kris is NOT gay. He loves Linc for Linc and not guys in general. Sure, you can call him bi-sexual in that he eventually comes to enjoy both gay and het sex but in terms of romance I think he’s a demi-sexual.

The sequels are already published – YAY! – and show an interesting “pre-quel” to the throuple that is Kris’ boss and his partners – which makes me psyched because I had wanted to know more about them as they were introduced. The third book is the slutty Kory who steals Linc’s beau but it looks like he gets redemption.

I’m excited to read the next two books and highly recommend this.

4.5 of 5 stars (there were some editing and grammatical mistakes that take it from a 5 star, but minor.)

    Audio

Tony Clark is a new narrator for me and he does a nice job of giving each person a unique voice and he attempts both the southern accent of Kris and the Eastern European accent of Victory bravely! There are times when he’s a bit flat in terms of emotion but not enough to detract from the overall enjoyment of this as an audiobook.

    Again, highly recommended.

    "Sorry, just not very good"

This is a gay romance about a straight guy who decides to do a gay for pay job. You'd expect really hot sex, some self discovery, maybe some insight into the gay porn industry.

This book offers none of these things. Sex is really dull and unimaginative, lame story line and clearly not accurate in portraying the industry.

Narration lacked any kind of passion, although I have to admit he had little to work with.

I wish Audible would qualify/screen some of these stories better. There are so many standout authors such as ZA Maxfield and others.

Sorry, hate giving terrible reviews, just don't want people to waste money.

I really liked this audiobook.I listen to this all in one sitting and wish it were longer because I really loved getting to know these characters. This is a story about love, loss, regret, loneliness, letting go and second chances at new love. Very good story and narration.

A man, surrounded by mystery and heartbreak is literally forced into moving away, starting a new life. A complete 180 degree change of life. In his need to earn some money he discovers this flyer in a club, which promises exactly that to any man who is willing to have sex with another man on camera. Although he never considered himself bi or even gay, he decides to take a chance, as he has nothing to lose and so Christopher Allan Roberts becomes Kris Allen.

He is slowly eased into the community, discovering that this particular p$&n company is more of a family than a company. Knowing that Kris is not only to the scene, but also to M/M sex, he is even given a mentor – another hetero man who decided to be gay for the camera – who shows him the ropes in order to help him to be as relaxed as possible for his first scene…

From there on it is quite a journey for Kris. He has to discover for example that he can perform best when his first scene partner around. Not because he is attracted to him, but he is the most womanly of the lot. Without him, he has troubles performing, as he simply is not attracted to men. …or maybe he is, to one in particular. Slowly, he is opening up to the idea that he can indeed have and allow feelings toward another man.

But even when they decide to give it a try, it is still not the end of the issues Kris (and Linc have) has to face. All of that in addition to Kris’ performing problems made this storyline even more realistic. It did not feel rushed. Also, it made me believe that Kris really is not gay and just feels drawn to and likes Linc for Linc. The character, the human being, not the man alone.

I really enjoyed reading about the get-togethers of their community, how Viktor, the boss, who himself lives in a committed three-way relationship, invites the actors into his home and how they all are a tight-knit group of friends. It made me want to learn more about them.

The narration was done by Tony Clark and this is the first of his works that I listened to. Overall he did a good job, especially the voice he gave Viktor was amazing! It’s sad it was Linc’s voice of all the voices that I did not like as much. It was somehow too squawky and simply a voice I could not warm up to, which made it hard for me to like his character at all, although he was absolutely sweet in his actions.

I am looking forward to read or listen to the next installment of this series.

    "Quick, entertaining story"
    Any additional comments?

I enjoyed the story for the most part. My main complaint is the story jumps from 2010 to 2015 with very little information given about the time in between. For example, it mentions a trial, but I don’t remember it mentioning whether or not Chris went to jail. I wish I’d gotten a little more information and background. I felt like that would have given me a better grasp of the character.

Other than that, I liked the setup, the supporting characters, that there’s definitely a plot, and not all porn (which was great) and I definitely wouldn’t mind continuing the series.

For the narration, I’ll admit I did have some trouble following along, mostly because I kept getting pulled out of the story by Tony Clark’s pacing, tone, tempo, character voices. It’s not that Clark does a bad job, I’ve heard worse believe me, but I didn’t connect with him as the narrator.

Bottom line: A quick, entertaining story with heat, but definitely check out the sample of the narrator before buying the audio.

    "Really enjoyable!!!"

*** Audiobook code provided to Bayou Book Junkie in exchange for a fair and honest review. ***

Chris made a huge mistake by driving him and his girlfriend Amanda under the influence of alcohol. Because of that Amanda died, he lost his scholarship and any chance of playing football, his parents disowned him and the only reason he's not living on the streets is because his best friend Michael took him in. After finding a flyer offering fame and fortune to anyone willing to go on camera and having sex with another man, Chris decides to give it a go, even if he's straight, without realizing it will change his life.

Linc is bisexual and has been working with All Cocks for a while, but when he sets eyes on Chris he is very attracted to him. Only Chris is straight and working the gay for pay angle, so there's no chance his feelings would be reciprocated, wouldn't it?

I loved this story! Chris/Kris was great and I really enjoyed that even if he was reticent at first, he did what was best for him at that moment. Loved the progression, and his slow realization that he was attracted to Linc himself. I also adored that TM Smith took her time and never forgot the underlying issues both Linc (with his trust issues) and Chris (with Amanda's death and his guilt over it), dealing with it all satisfyingly. Never mind that the whole All Cocks family was great all-around and gave a lot more depth to the storyline.

The audiobook was amazing! Tony Clark did a great job with the book, providing all kind of voices and nuances that set the tone for the reading. I especially loved his Victor impersonation, it was just great!

All in all, either if you choose to read or listen to it, you're looking at several hours of very hot entertainment! Very recommendable!

    Rating: 4.5 Stars!!!

    Any additional comments?

Independent reviewer for Divine Magazine, I was gifted the AUDIO file of this book.

Christopher Allen lost everything the night he got into his truck and drove home. Now he is is New York, homeless and broke. A flyer in a club he finds brings his salvation. Lincoln finds himself more and more drawn to Kris, the newest member of the All Cocks gay porn troupe. But Kris is straight and only doing this for money. Can Linc trust again, after his heart was so badly broken last time??

This is the first book in the All Cocks series, its the first of T. M. Smith's I've read, and its also the first gay-for-pay book I've read. I'll come back to that bit.

I enjoyed the story, mostly, of Kris and Linc falling in love in the porn industry. Its all very well handled, and I am under no illusions that everyone works as safely as Victor, Matthew and Andrew do with their boys.

Linc's attraction to Kris is immediate and powerful, but he had his heart broken, and quite rightly, keeps it to himself. But the others notice, both Linc and Kris and the attention they give each other, but it takes time for the two of them to do anything about it. Linc needs to trust again, and Kris needs to say goodbye.

We get to hear from both men, in the third and I liked that. Its my favourite way for a book to be written. Multi POV, in the third. We even get a bit of the bad guy!

What I struggled most with, was the gay-for-pay aspect and the effect it had on Linc and Kris and their story. I understand they had to work together, and that some of that work came over in the story, but I would have liked less of the work and more of the relationship between them. I dunno, maybe its just me, I just didn't like that part.

    Tony Clark narrates.

Its the first of his work I've listened to. I did find, at points, his voices were very similar, the voices of the characters all seem to bleed into one another. Only Victor's voice stood out, for obvious reasons. Clark's reading voice is quite high, too, and personally, that gave me some moments where I had to try and figure out what he'd said, because I missed it.

Mostly, though, I did enjoy the narration, and the story. I just think I might have enjoyed it more if I had READ it, rather than listened to it. Will I read the other books?? Given the opportunity, yes. Listen to them? With this narrator, possibly not. Its a purely personal reason that I struggle with higher pitch voices, its why I MUCH prefer to listen to male narrated works than female narrated ones.

    4 stars for the story
    4 stars for the narration

    "Love these boys"
Where does Gay for Pay rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    Right in the middle

What three words best describe Tony Clark’s voice?

    Fine, stay away from Southern

    Any additional comments?

So second time around for me and these boys. And just like before I enjoyed the story a great deal. The fact that this small town boy not only lost everything but years later still paying the price. So many times you hear/read that oh they were young, mistakes happen etc. But not for Chris, they threw the book at him, he lost everything. Hit bottom, and now after five years is just climbing out.

Linc, we really didn’t much of a back story on him but got the impression that his wasn’t all rosy either. But unlike Chris/Kris Linc has been honest with himself and everyone and has lived his life open.

Because it’s the start of a new series we are introduced to a lot of players but not so fast or all at once that its confusing. And by the end of the book we want all of the stories

Linc and Chris and so patient with each other, Linc for Chris moods and his novices ways to the gay world. And Chris so smitten with Linc, he just all Linc all the time.

The rest of the cast rounds everything just perfect. My only complaint is that we have Chris basically a non drinker in the beginning but by the end he’s got a beer in his hand almost every scene.

My first for this narrator, Tony Clark, and overall he did an okay job. I’ve certainly heard worse. Not sure his Southern accent was the best decision when trying to do Chris. But the rest were fine.
