From the incomparable Nora Roberts comes a heart-warming and enchanting tale.…
All Gabriel Bradley wanted was solitude. But when a very pregnant - and very beautiful - woman ended up at his remote cabin during a blizzard, desperate, alone, and on the run, the modern-day Scrooge couldn't turn her away. For Laura brought him the gifts of passion, hope, and life - he needed only the courage to reach for it.

"Very sweet! I love the Male Narration for a change"
Great story, different and believable! A bit anti-climatic, but that is what made is so believable.
"Gabriel's Angel was a beautiful story."
I loved the story, and Todd Haberkom the narrator was very good.I know I will be listening to this book again.
"Beautiful story "
Beautiful story makes you cringe and then smile all in the same chapter and you can feel her strength and his love with just the words spoken. read beautifully and I love this book thank you
"Pregnant Laura needs a friend~ Gabriel~ 4 STARS~"
PLOT: on the run pregnant Laura.....runs into a blizzard and hermit HUNK Gabriel.
Laura is on the run and pregnant. She ends up in a blizzard and in the ditch. Along comes Gabriel who takes her back to his cabin. Gabriel is an artist who is bitter and has his own demons. He finds Laura both beautiful and he becomes the friend she so desperately needs. While the snow flies Gabriel draws and paints the stunningly beautiful Laura. She is a widow and on the run from wealthy in laws who threaten to "take her unborn child away from her"...Laura and Gabriel end up married as a solution for them both. She needs him to fend of the nasty in laws and she inspires him to paint. a VERY early Nora Roberts. a sweet story and holds up over time. The reader is very good and over all I give it 4 STARS.
"One dimensional characters in lackluster book"
There is almost nothing to review here. The story has been done before and done much better. It's so formulaimatic that I could see the checklist of plot points (beautiful, orphaned, widowed and pregnant girl on the run from evil mother in law is saved by handsome, rich and unattached artist). If this book were a painting it would be a charcoal sketch. The narrator was fine but since he didn't have much to work with he couldn't excel.
"My first Nora Novel"
This was my FIRST Nora Roberts book. STOP JUDGING ME DAMMIT!!! It wasn't what I expected. This book was originally published in 1989 and seriously I couldn't tell. I enjoyed the story. I've got a weak spot for preggo chicks who find love in the strong arms of an alpha dude. Laura was extremely weak at times but I can understand why after going through the abuse she did. I felt the love story part of the book was all instalove but again given the circumstances I can see why.
I read a review where a woman accused the story that has a newborn as not being realistic. To that reviewer I say just because YOUR reality doesn't jive doesn't mean it's not realistic. After the baby was born the new parents dealt with sleep deprivation and connection issues. Totally realistic in my book. And as for Laura losing the weight, let me say I was damn near 200lbs when I gave birth to both of my sons and I was back in a size 4/6 within 2-4weeks. So again, it doesn't make it unrealistic just because it doesn't match YOUR REALITY.
Overall I enjoyed the story. It wasn't ground breaking or earth shattering but I liked it. I would have LOVED to have been a fly on the wall when Gabe had "that" conversation with Miriam but we don't get to see that. I have one more Nora book so I'll give that one a go and maybe a few others before I call myself a fan.
"An oldie but goodie!"
This is one of Nora Roberts classic romances. It hits all the emotions a romance should. If your looking for a nice story with a happy ending downloaded Gabriel Angel now.
It was hard to put the book down. The flow of the story was great . strongly recommend.
I was skeptical about the b
narrator, but he turned out to be great. This is also a great story, in true Nora Roberts style.
"Didn't want to stop!"
In order to really enjoy these stories, it is really important that the the book is read with each characters voice and emotion - sort of like a play. This was well done !!
