Dragon-warrior Venom lives in self-imposed isolation. Cursed by his toxic touch, he is deadly to anyone who has contact with him for too long. Set apart from others and hounded by intense loneliness, he craves the lasting connection he believes he cannot possess. Until a chance encounter with a sultry mortal offers a ray of hope...
Evelyn Foxe is the woman of Venom's every desire, but she's too busy running from the Russian mob to think about love. As she accepts Venom's offer to help her escape her precarious situation, she's skeptical, afraid that he's in league with those sent to harm her. But when a biological weapon is unleashed in her hometown, Evelyn is forced to trust Venom - or risk the dangers of going it alone.
Will they survive the firestorm that rages around them? And can they pull from the ashes a love that will defy all the odds and last through the ages?

Wow i love Venom and Evelyn's story. Coreene Callahan you done it again, i love this series and I can't wait for the next one. The narrator is excellent, he is very believable as a woman and he sounds hot as venom 👍
"I Love It!"
This series has been a refreshing change for me and I am so glad I came across it! I read a lot of PNR with vampires, werewolves and other things that go bump in the night, so why not dragons too!
Venom’s story is my favorite in the series. However, I like how Coreene is not just focused on the two main characters but tells the story of the other characters as well. I give the story 4.5 stars as the ending of the book was a little awkward to me.
Cole did an amazing job narrating and I will be on the lookout for other books he narrates.
I recommend this book and series for anyone who enjoys PNR.
Coreene please don't keep us waiting long for the next book!
"Venom is back!!!"
NUMBER OF HEARTS: 4
Venom is the one Dragonfury warrior that never thought he would ever find his mate. Yet a night of going AWOL Venom has done just that. Despite everything thing that make him up he finally found her. But being the hopeless romantic he is, Venom wants to woo Evelyn the way a human would. But that means letting her walk away.
By walking away, Evelyn just went from the fry pan into the fire.
Evelyn Foxe has not been have a good couple of months. First she get’s fired, then she finds out that mob is after her because of her mother, and lastly she finds herself doing something she never would have ever thought she would have to do. But when her first John walks through the door there is something, something very strange about this man. Yet, she is drawn to him.
But she must walk away. Because if she doesn’t walk away right now you may never want to leave him ever.
Venom!!!! Yay!!! Finally Venom get’s his story.
I enjoyed Venom story, although I was a little sad that Venom had to share so much of his story with Ivar and Gage. These storylines are important to the series, but I really wanted more of Venom. There were also a few questions and topics that I felt were left unresolved. I am hoping that we will get some closure on these in the next book. Overall, I loved Venom’s story.
We got a new narrator for Fury of Obsession. This is the first time that I have listened to Cole Ferguson. I will say that at first I was a little confused and sad, mostly because I was use to the old narrator. But after a little bit and a few chapters I started to enjoy Cole. I will say that I think he did Venom perfectly *fans self*. I mean come on Venom is danger wrapped in yummy.
I am looking forward to the next book in this series and I hope that Cole will continue as the narrator. Question is who is next?
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley & Montlake Romance in exchange for an honest review. I also purchases a copy from Audible. This review is my own opinion and not a paid review.
I was disappointed, there was not enough about Venom and Evelyn there love story was over shadowed by all the other action happening, unlike the others books in the series these two didn't get there proper time, we got so much more with the other dragons and their mates. I wonder if the author felt her audience wouldn't except an African American female as a love interest so she kept it to a minimal. Very disappointed as there are so many interracial couples in the world and would appreciate a fantasy love story as this. By the way the narrator has the sexiest voice when reading the male part. Can't wait for the next one.
"Not up to par"
The performance was fantastic, the story was mediocre. I started these books for the romance aspect and accepted the little bits of drama, now it's doing what the Black Dagger Brotherhood did and becoming all about the battle and not about the couples. I'll give the next book a shot but if it's like this, it will be my last, unfortunately.
"Series is still fantastic"
I laughed so much listening to this book, the storyline and characters are great and I love the narrator! Looking for the next installment!
"good.... seems to be a filler to the next book"
still worth the read/listen ...can't wait for the next one...the read could be a little better
"remains one of my favourite."
waited with baited breath for this one. Glad to see at lesst one mate not try to run away. The story time line was disjointed however. The whole Prague portion happened over a week and the rest of the story much longer than that, yet the two story lines just didn't come together. Still anxious for the next one.
Dragons, bold charming strong furious fast funny, night furys, always a great read and sexy to boot I can't wait for the next one who will find there long lost mate ? we shall see and what will come of the problem of the arch Guard? I'm on the edge of my seat.
So well written. A story you'll want to listen again and again.
I like how the author moved about in her description of the events of this story as though it were being viewed on a screen.
Well done, and well worth the $.
"could have been better"
To much focus on fighting or other elements of the the story. Not enough development of the romance, it is just not believable.
"Another Fantastic Paranormal Romance!"
This is the fifth book in the Dragon Fury series. I absolutely loved it!
First off, I would like to say that I love the cover! Venom's eyes! *Sigh!*
I downloaded this book in both Kindle and audiobook format, as I have the other books in the series in this way too. This gives me the opportunity to either read or listen to the story, depending on my mood. The audio book is narrated by Cole Ferguson, who does a wonderful job in bringing the characters to life. I must admit I was a little disappointed that Benjamin L. Darcie was no longer narrating the books, but Cole Ferguson's voice sounded just as sexy, so all in all, I wasn't disappointed for long!
Venom is a fantastic character. I have enjoyed getting to know this particular dragon. He has a multitude of layers that get peeled back and revealed as the story progresses. This made me even more intrigued with him, as he has a few secrets that I never would have guessed, and a vulnerability that surprised me, as he struck me as a very confident man who is not afraid of much. That is, until he meets Evelyn Foxe.
Evelyn (Evie) Foxe is also a wonderful character. I liked her very much. She is normally an emotionally strong woman, who usually knows what she wants and goes for it, but now she's desperate. She is a forensic accountant, who has had the rug pulled out from under her feet and is struggling to find a job, and keep a Russian mobster off her back. Can Venom be her ticket out of the situation she finds herself in? Or will she be in more danger?
I have been eagerly waiting for the release of this book for some time. It was well worth the wait! I started to listen to the story and was quickly hooked. I have become totally addicted to this series! The story, in a way, continues on from Fury of Desire. There is a definite story arc beginning to appear and gather pace, as this story is told through several points of view and not just Venom's and Evie's.
All of the dragons from the Night Fury pack are worried about Gage and Hadar, who have gone missing in Prague. These two dragons have not featured much in the story up until now, but as the story arc opens up and the reader gets to see what is happening in Prague, they suddenly become extremely important. There's some seriously sick things happening in that part of the world, and Gage and Hadar find themselves in serious danger. I know it sounds a bit strange, but I really enjoyed their story, even though it's not very nice. There is lots of violence and danger, but these two are a force to be reckoned with. I must admit that Nian is not too shabby himself!
Back in Seattle, Ivar is waiting for results on his experiment, but even he is shocked at the results. Venom and Evie's romance is fraught with excitement and danger. However, I felt their story, although integral to the plot, got a little sidelined due to the larger story arc. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but if you compare the first story to this one, they have less page time together than Bastian and Myst. But, it makes a nice change to have an interracial coupling. I haven't read many books where this occurs, and it brings a different dimension to the story. It also makes me wonder about Sloan's story. Will we ever get to read it one day? I hope so. I reached the end of the story and though it doesn't end on a cliffhanger, it made me look forward to reading/listening to the next book in the series as soon as possible. I just hope I don't have to wait as long for it though!
Coreene Callahan has written another fantastic paranormal romance. She is fast becoming one of my favourite authors to read. Her books are fast paced, exciting and extremely addictive! I love her writing style and the flow is absolutely wonderful!
Due to the use of bad language and the explicit sexual scenes, I do not recommend this book for younger readers. However, I highly recommend this book if you love erotic paranormal romances or books with sexy dragon shifters! - Lynn Worton
"Miss Benjamin l. Darcie"
Overall, Benjamin L. Darcie's narration was sorely missed. Cole did an ok job, but was lacking in the characterisation, especially of Forge. Voice just didn't have the same 'gravitas'.
The book itself seemed a little more disjointed than the others, with multiple storylines that detracted a little from the Venom/Evelyn romance. However, still draws you in and I wanted to listen to it all at once!
Please bring Benjamin back for the next book!
