Publisher's Summary

Seven women, seven days. A lot can happen. There are three things that Amy Forrester loves most in the world: Jo, her wife of 15 years; spending time with her closest friends; and her cabin in the woods. What better way to spend the week between Christmas and New Year's than having all three!

When she invites her three best friends to join her and Jo in their mountain hideaway, all she expects is good food, fine wine, and lively conversation. Unfortunately for Amy, there are three things that she doesn't count on: her best friend's relationship is falling apart; her two other friends share a secret that causes nothing but conflict and discomfort; and the arrival of Jo's fly-by-the-seat-of-her-pants niece Darby, who has a habit of leaving broken hearts in her wake.

Childhood friends, new lovers, and old rivals share beginnings, endings, and the uncommon bonds of friendship in a story filled with romance and possibility.

    "Breaking Darby's fingers"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. I can't tell you how many times that I started to smile like an idiot while listening.

What other book might you compare Fresh Tracks to and why?

    Not sure.

What about Natalie Duke’s performance did you like?

I really enjoyed it. I think that you could tell who was talking just by the voice change and that isn't always the case with audio books.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

"I see you." Loved that moment.

    Any additional comments?

I don't know that I have disliked a really sweet character as much as I did Darby. I hated that it, to me, crossed a line. That moment upset me during the rest of the book. I needed blood pressure medication at one point. LOL That is honestly why I didn't give it 5 stars. That moment just made me angry. Which a good writer sometimes has that effect. However, other than that, I really enjoyed it. Love all the relationships.

    "Not good at all."

I don't know what was worse, the story, or the narrator trying, and failing to do believable voices for the characters. There wasn't a single likable character here at all. One of the married couples in the book made such poor decisions, I'm not sure I'd like them if they were real people. None of the characters had anything beneath the surface.

One redeeming quality was that the author added a woman of color to the mix. However, that redemption is short lived because the romance/chemistry between her and the other woman was so boring, I hoped they'd continue to hate each other! Then to give them such a lame sex scene?! Come on! Why! Lol. Geesh.

Nothing was good here because it lacked so much. No sexy sex, just eh sex. No drama to distract from how boring it is. No spark between the characters. No nothing. 7 hours and 56 minutes I can't get back. I believe this was my first ever Georgia Beers book. It will likely be my last!
