I had to listen to the end...so I guess it was time well-spent.
The main plot of the story-a child being abducted-was quite thrilling. The multiple subplots made the story a convoluted mess!
I enjoyed the narrator. She did the best she could with the repetitious and juvenile dialogue provided by the author.
If this book were turned into a movie it would have to be directed by multiple people as there were entirely too many story lines combined into one.
I have read all of Fern Michaels' Sisterhood books and really enjoyed them. This book had a great premise, the original story line, but the author took the story on numerous tangents, veering away from the original plot. Then, in the end, the completion of the plots had to be tied-in and seemed rushed. As a matter of fact, the end of the book didn't even seem to be an end. It certainly wasn't a cliffhanger, just not thoroughly explained or described.
"Hard to get into"
Narrator is good at differentiating characters, but I didn't like her voice. This is a slow moving story, and I only recommend it if you've listened to seemingly everything else and it's on sale.
The reader made the book very listenerable (if there is such a word)!!
Quite a few of Fern Michaels - I just love it when she brings dogs into her stories - makes them so human and loving.
Gosh, I am sure I have, but cannot recall any particular one - she was very good with this book.
No extreme reaction, but certainly a few times when I held my breath and could not wait to find out the outcome!!
I just love Ferm Michaels way of writing - I live it.
"Disappointed with ending!"
I was definitely disappointed with the ending! Good story otherwise. Performance okay except for tone of voice.
"first half of book was good, last half was painful"
Someone who wants background noise without listening to content
Love everything she does.
Heroine was a whiner and unlikeable in the second half of the book. Don't waste your time.
"A new favorite from Fern!"
Where do I start, I loved the characters and story line for this book. Fern is a favorite author of mine and she out did herself this time!
I was unsure about this book at first but it was so good. There were many different things going on throughout the book that always kept me guessing. I enjoyed this book very much!
"What a Nice Surprise"
This was a book purchased through a promotional sale. I did not expect it to be this good!
I'm going back to find more from this author AND the narrator.
"simplistic easy listening"
Pretty basic --i'm used to my main characters having some sort of special quality..and jessie just doesn't live up. She's kindof...well...dense... but that's okay. It's a nice listen. Just don't expect too much from it!
Insipid, predictable and poorly written, this story is chock full of hackneyed sayings, tired plot devices and stereotypical characters. Downloaded this as a discounted "summer read", but $4.95 was too much for this stinker. Don't know why I bothered to finish it--huge waste of 10+ hours! Garbage.
"Fern Michaels is Magic"
Fern Michaels weaves her magic once again. Have to say that I found the ending disappointing and disjointed. Could have done with a few more chapters.
