Between her service in the U.S. Army and her new life living with supernaturals in Alaska, Melena Sanders has had her loyalty and duty tested in every possible way. Or so she thought.
Tensions among supernatural factions in Fairbanks are growing after the city's recent attacks, and she must pick a side. Her nephilim lover Lucas needs her help to search for his missing brother - whose disappearance may not be all it seems. And agents from the Department of Homeland Security are lurking about investigating the suspicious "earthquake" that rocked the region four months ago.
It's not the best time to be planning a trip out of town, but troubles in Fairbanks aren't Melena's only problem. A greater supernatural plot is developing, and only by attending an upcoming ball in New Orleans can she discover more. There's no way to avoid it. Her loyalty and duty to those she cares for are about to clash.
Contains mature themes.

"ONE OF THE BEST PARANORMAL SERIES!"
Excellent! Susan Illene is one of my top ten favourites. Very well written and the narration is excellent too. The series is so interesting that I have been going through these books one after another. I am on to the most current one which is book 5. I do hope book 6 will be published soon.
Yes, because this one is so exciting, so terrific...
I like everthing in this story, since the previous as a bit boring.
"Wonderfully written as always!"
The only problem with this audiobook is that the next one is only available in book/ ebook format! Since there isn't even a tentative release date posted for the next two parts of this series, I'm off to Amazon to get the ebook version! I wish the powers that be would see dragging out release dates loses audio sales when the ebooks are already there waiting for people who are hooked on the story like I am.
I love this series had to buy kindle version of darkness shattered because audio isn't available I am so into this series
"I'm so ready for the next one!"
I'm ready for the next one. It's leaving a lot open for a great new book.
