With the acclaimed Midnight Breed series, New York Times bestselling author Lara Adrian has written thrilling novels of electrifying romance and heart-pounding suspense - books in which humans and vampires live tenuously side by side. In Crave the Night, Adrian brings the Breed and its world to the brink of war, where even the deepest passion can shatter into violence.
Born and raised to be an emotionless killing machine, Nathan is one of the most lethal Breed vampires in existence. A key member of the Order - an elite group of warriors charged with protecting both mortals and vampires - Nathan executes each mission with flawless precision and a total lack of mercy. Now he must pursue a powerful, hidden enemy. But Nathan's hard discipline and training are no match for the fierce pull he feels toward a young woman he has no right to desire - a woman of wealth and high social standing who has long been promised to another Breed male, and who may also prove to be the key to rooting out Nathan's elusive quarry.
Jordana lives a life of glittering privilege as a member of a prominent Breed family in Boston. Surrounded by fine things and fawning admirers, Jordana wants for nothing - until she crosses paths with a dark, intense warrior from the Order and finds herself swept into an impulsive, sizzling kiss that neither of them will forget. As much as she tries to deny her deep feelings for Nathan, Jordana cannot resist the craving to be near him, to break through his forbidding walls and see the man he truly is. But getting close to Nathan will thrust Jordana into a treacherous new world, forcing her to risk all she has and all she knows about herself and her past. And loving this seductive man could be the most dangerous temptation of all.

This is a great addition to the Midnight Breed series but the performance of the reader is so bad it's distracting. Fortunately I'd already read the book when I bought this.
The eBooks continue to keep my interest in the series, the lacklustre performance of the reader of the audiobooks are a major turnoff however.
Lara Adrian writes in full flowing picturesque dialogue that draws the reader in - I've enjoyed all her books.
Awful, dreadful - so awful and dreadful it was just a major distraction to my enjoyment of this audiobook. The only positive thing I can say about Harriet Hubler's performance is that she enunciates well. Other than that, she sounds like she's about to fall to sleep either from boredom or a snoot full of pills. Her sleepy, slow style of reading makes both the heroes and heroines sound vapid, which is no mean feat when you consider the nature of the characters! These stores are written as fast paced action/erotic romances. Ms Hublers performance conveys everything BUT those qualities. In short, she ruins the creative works of Lara Adrian's writing. Please, please find someone else to read these works.
I shan't bother to buy this series again in audiobook until a new performer is found.
"I Can't Believe I Waited So Long...."
I can't believe I waited so long to listen to this book....it was AWESOME!
For months, I tried to listening to this book, but could not make it past 10 to 15 minutes. I'm not sure if it was me or the narrating?
So, this past weekend, I decided I was either going to listen to the book or delete it off my device. I put my headphones on, turned on the book and started cleaning the house. WOW, I could NOT turn it off! I actually finished the book in two days!
This story is now one of my FAVORITES in the "Midnight Breed" series.
Hillary does a great job or narrating the story. (I read the other books in the series so I think it took me longer to get used to this one being narrated.)
I absolutely recommend listening to this book especially if you've read the others in the series.
"AND THE PLOT THICKENS...For the new generation"
Loving how series moved to future generation. Awesome new bad guy twist. Series still great!
I did not like the narration. The portrayal of the male voices was pretty bad. I had forgotten how much Adrian has deviated from books 1 - 10, even though I did read the 11th. This was all just too disjointed. Wish I hadn't bothered.
"Hot hot hot!"
Not sure. I was not crazy about the audio narrator, as too monotone. The story has a few twists and turns, as well as a relationship that required more emotion in the narration. She made it more boring than exciting.
The complexity between the evolution of the mating between Nathan and Jordanna. Also, love Jordanna's story.
Monotone, boring, sleepy.
I would not try to make a movie out of this as Hollywood would likely ruin it!
Great story, very hot. I liked the print edition way better. A different audio narrator would have improved the audio, yet great story!
great story, well written, all the books flow well into the next in the series and i enjoy the love stories
"A new Beginning with the Atlantians."
I absolutely love Nathan. He has been through so much with the Hunter program and them mother finding him saving him. He's strong, powerful, yet emotionally damaged. It is nice to see him find peace, love, and happiness with Jordanna.
"DNF at 37%"
What a waste of a credit. The heroine makes me want to scream, she is sooo pathetic and I care more about Nathan than her. I really wanted to continue the rest of the story (about other characters and the story-line), but I just can't tolerate her.
Here dies my love of the Midnight Breed Series (well I still like the other books up until book 10 [even book 11, which I didn't particularly care for, was much better than this] )
"it was so good that I finished it TOO quickly!"
I like real! The attitudes and comments of the main characters were humorous and realistic. Nicely done.
love this series. im getting the next right now. so excited. favorite series by far
Reader was A+. Great historical info on the Gen 1. Sexy romantic moments done with lots of love and caring
