Jennifer Owens has her fair share of troubles, what with being pestered by dead people and having to dodge the spells cast by her best friend, Becky, who is the worst witch in the history of witchcraft. On top of that, she has to contend with a sex-mad octogenarian who seems to be stalking her. She doesn't think things can get any worse. But then she becomes the target of a band of vampires who wanted to protect a secret that only she can unlock, if only she can figure out what it is! A steaming hot vampire slayer is determined to be her knight in shining armor, but is he real or another one of Becky's silly spells? And would they be able to figure out the vampire secret before she becomes their dinner?

I live in the outback Australia and so love to listen to a good raunchy kickass story where the female is tall strong and in total control.
This was an OK story, just didn't seem to have THAT get you in there with a hang on by your seat of your pants ride, type of story. It could have been the English narrator, she sucked at doing the voices for the men in the story. I didn't really feel the story, I so love it when you wished you were in the story and going for the ride of you life. Sorry that just didn't happened for me this time. cheers
"A fun, often hysterical, adventure!"
Top 10. One of the best!
The talking dog. Too funny!
Very good job. She really brought it to life.
The dog. He was so funny and so like a real dog.
The pacing was very well done. This book is almost a balancing act between adventure, romance, and humor. One moment you are absorbed in the adventure, then something funny would completely catch you off guard, and then ,surprise, the romance would heat up. Never a dull moment.
An absolutely fantastic book :)
"Fun, Smart and Sexy!"
I found this book by accident while searching for another title and I'm pleasantly surprised!
The story hooks you right from the start and as the story builds there are a lot of fun and intriguing add on that make this book totally unique and addicting.
I love the sharp wit and colorful language that makes the scene in my mind much more colorful and funny.
it also has excellent sexual tension and charisma that makes you yell and shake the book as to egg the characters to just do it already!
The Narrator does an amazing job and her voice and passion in the story is contagious.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves RomCom!
Can't wait for the next book from this author.
Characters are charming and story line is so original! Sharon K is awesome!! So fun!
I listen to a lot of books and this one was just ok. It really wasn't very funny or witty which is surprising given the reviews. I typically love this type of book but this one was off the mark. The plot wasn't particularly engaging. The characters weren't developed enough to draw you into the story either.
Even if you are able to buy on sale, I say skip it. There are better books in this genre.
"Looking forward to more!"
I stumbled across this while looking for a funny book. I was quite pleased with the story and narrator. I'm looking forward to hearing many more books by Sharon Karaa!
As before Sharon Karaa totally entertains with her imagination. You'll love Monty! Plus the narrator Emily Gray, brings the characters to life. I enjoyed the book so much and look forward to the next.
"Not quite one thing or another"
This is a cute story, complete with a witch with a bit of a hiccup to her spells, a group of confused vampires, a very hot vampire hunter, and oh yes, a talking dog, thanks to the witch who gets things just a bit wrong. The dog's owner, an ordinary mortal who must live with her best friend's wonky spells, is just trying to live her life.
I am not sure why I don't like this book as well as I thought I would. I think it is trying so hard to be funny that it seems a bit strained. It also can't decide if it is British chick lit (the dog can't decide if it has a leash or a lead), light romantic paranormal, or just screwball comedy.
The narrator is wonderful and makes some rather silly banter work. She even does a good aggravated dog.
I'm just not impressed. Maybe it was the narration. I couldn't keep the characters straight because they all sounded the same. I finished the book two days ago and I don't even remember the story.
It wasn't awful. Just meh.
