Mr Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet meet Billy and Me
Giovanna Fletcher is a mum, wife, actress, writer, podcaster and much more. She supports various charities including working closely with Tommy's and Save the Children as well as being an ambassador for The Prince’s Trust and is also an official patron for CoppaFeel!.
Billy and Me is Giovanna debut novel which is filled with modern day romance, country charm with just a little bit of drama to spice up their lives.
Sophie May lives in a quaint English village, just over an hour away from London. She has lived here all her life and knows all the local gossips (gossip I mean). Deciding the 'typical' route of school to uni/gap year to work was not possible or what Sophie wanted, she stumbles into the local tea shop where she lands a job, second home and best friend.
All is well until the village is selected to be the filming location for Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice and cue.... Mr Darcy aka Billy Buskin walks in and turns Sophie's world upside down.
The story follows the ups and downs of the relationship between not only Billy and Sophie but also Sophie and Molly as well as Sophie and her mum. Billy and Me covers many major life changes that all of us will inevitably encounter or be touched by at some stage in our lives but one piece of advice to remember is if anyone ends up dating a hot shot actor is to....NEVER READ THE COMMENTS SECTION!
This is a modern romantic novel, while some people may feel some aspects of the book are 'predictable' I feel that they suit the story and appreciate that there is not random twists and turns thrown in that would, in my opinion, over shadow the meaning of the story as well as disappoint readers seeking this genre type.
I really enjoyed this book but I do want to advise reader caution as there are themes in the book concerning cancer, miscarriage and a hit-and-run. These are integral to the story and are themes that Giovanna has touched on with a deep sense of compassion but could still make those with the strongest hearts shed a tear of two.
I also have to add that Kate Rawson did an excellent narration and really brings the characters to life and suited the telling of this story perfectly.

beautiful
at the beginning i struggled.. but further and further into this heart throb of a story, i became encaptured in Sophies Character. So relatable with her anxiety flares and her jealousy dramas.
I miss Molly already.
