He loves me, and he doesn't even know my real name.
The limelight that follows him could expose everything I'm hiding. But even knowing the risks, I can't force myself to stay away.
I'm going to break his heart, but mine will shatter right along with it.
Will we lose it all when I reveal what's beneath this mask?

"SWEET ROMANCE BUT THERE'S A SECRET PAST TO REVEAL"
Charlotte (aka Charlie) needs to disappear quickly and she does it in New Orleans and now with a new look, a new job and a new identity she has finally found her true self working in a Tattoo Shop. One year in and late one night a Bachelor Party come staggering in and that's when she meets the gorgeous Simon. Simon is instantly captivated by the tattooed, dark haired beauty with colored streaks in her hair but is it the booze clouding his mind. So he returns the next day to find out that she was even more breathtaking but he can't get her to say yes to a date..... until persistency, a lack of Charlie's willpower and a terrible accident brings them together. But Charlie has secrets that could harm Simon's political career, she's a closed book and sooner or later her past is going to catch up with her and it's just a case of when and at what price.
I usually go for bad boys and Simon is anything but that, he's thoughtful, kind, caring, understanding and doesn't pressurise Charlie for answers and I loved him for that. It was Charlie who was keeping secrets and, as usual, they're kept too long with devastating results. There's no surprises for the listener as Charlie's past life is told from the start but it's a lovely romance that unfolds between two likeable characters who deserve each other. There's romantic times, sexy times and heartbreaking confusing times and the worst enemy is Charlie's self doubt..... well that and her family and the F.B.I.
Worth a credit? Dual POV's, good narration and a story that I couldn't wait to get back to so, IMO, that all makes for a nice creditworthy listen.
"Five Stars ~ All The Way!"
Wow! What a wonderful love story! I agree with all the positive reviews! Don't know why I was so skeptical about starting this series, but Meghan March has made a believer out of me. I'm definitely on board with rest of the series!
Andi and Holter both did fantastic job on the narration!
Well worth the credit!
"Wonderful start to a great series!"
I loved this book! It seams that lately most books I've listened to have been over the top on the angst. This one has just the right amount. The narration is really good. Has a great HEA. Can be read as a stand alone but is the beginning of a great series. This one is credit worthy!
Original storyline and great setting, I liked how the "good girl falls for bad boy" roles where somewhat reversed without being all too black or white. The writing was fluid and the characters well developed, making it simple to embrace their circumstances and empathize. I appreciated less of the typical and sometimes overplayed internal monologues and enjoyed how the secondary characters (including the lovely Huck) enhanced the narrative.
Holter Graham wasn't my favorite narrator, his pace was too slow and I didn't particularly like how he would sometimes go to extremes: either whispering/mumbling or being super loud and intense. I adore Andi Arndt, the way she approaches her characters with such easiness always makes it effortless for me to identify with them.
"Finally a GOOD man!"
This story is brilliant, and not your cookie-cutter erotic romance! I like a bad boy as much as the next girl, but I am a sucker for a sincere, goodhearted man. And that is exactly what Simon Duchesne is. It was refreshing, for a change, to have a good man fall for a "bad" girl. But the story is so much more than that. The suspense surrounding Charlie's secret, and the white hot chemistry between her and Simon, kept me listening non-stop. The story is written in a way that the characters are believable...even the peripheral characters. I can't wait to listen to more of this series!
"My go to Author"
I love Meghan Marches character development and stories telling. I am telling all my friends
"Keeping a secret has never been so difficult"
Oh how I loved this first book in the Beneath Series by Meghan March. It had intrigue, all the emotions and some off the charts sex. Charlie and Simon are awesome together, but there's all sorts of things in their way.
But these two are meant to be together and where there's a will there's a way... but can they overcome their obstacles? Give a listen and you'll find out.
"Loved this book"
I so enjoyed reading this book. Charlie was an interesting character to follow through the book. I never could guess what she was goind to do unlike other books.
"Fantastic Little Listen!"
The Perfect Catch!
There aren't any books I can think of that compare to this novel. As I state below, its truly a 180 from the last 25 romance novels Ive delved into! In fact, I keep wondering how to find more of this! Loved it.
I couldnt say! I loved both Charlie and Simon! Both characters were genuine, witty, and adorable. The narrators did a fabulous job. As a southerner, the accent was a little off, but I'm not complaining one bit! A+
I found myself staying up way past bedtime to listen to the remainder of this one. So many romances I've read lately are all the stereotypical guy with the hard abusive past...blah blah blah! Absolutely refreshing to switch it up for a book where the hero is completely normal, reliable, trustworthy, respectable, and with morals to boot! Simon is absolutely swoon worthy. He wants Charlie, is honest about it, treats her right, and has no qualms about laying his thoughts, emotions, and fears on the table when it comes to how he feels.
Cant wait to see whats in store for Con and Vanessa in Book 2! Thanks Meghan March for todays entertainment!
A very great story! Love how Charlie is so sassy & independent...She don't need a man she wants him by her side...
Fab story line
Tattoos and the dog Hook
All of it to be honest
Yes very much so so I did lol
fantastic story line I was hooked from start to finish
Although I read book 6 in this series first (it was awesome, hence starting from the beginning), it did not take away from my enjoyment of the first book. This book follows bad girl (running away from the law) Charlie and good boy (running for Senator) Simon as they try to navigate a relationship based based on non truths. I loved the twist on the bad boy image (bad girl Charlie for a change). The story, told in dual POV, was fast paced and kept me entertained throughout the whole book. I'm definitely starting book 2 in the very near future because I need more of this complex, highly entertaining group.
