Since Jeremiah Cortez broke her heart, Phoebe Keller has devoted herself to her career. As an expert in Native American culture, she has her doubts when an anthropologist claims to have discovered priceless artifacts on a nearby reservation. But before Phoebe can pursue the matter, the professor in question turns up dead — and the FBI sends Cortez to investigate. Cortez thought he’d left the past behind him — especially his history with Phoebe. Once, she’d sparked his world-weary soul…but he’d had to walk away. Now, seeing the blonde beauty digs up feelings he’d thought buried for good. But he must keep his emotions in check — he has secrets…and one of them revolves around a child with eyes as dark as his own. As they find themselves entangled in a world of conspiracy and deception, they’ll discover something more powerful than anything they’ve ever known — love.

"A true love story."
This book is about a true love that is torn apart by a twist of fate. The man in this I keep wanting to smack upside the head.
You follow the two lovers through a murder investigation and them coming to terms with their past. It has its ups and downs but is a good listen.
"This is a must read"
This is my all time favorite, their finally meeting again at Cortez's maneuvering and their final outcome kept me tuned in and listening to it many times over. I love that Cortez was a Native American, as well as his dad's input ... Such a great story and very very enjoyable. I did also enjoy the reader.
"Listen again and again"
I really enjoy all her books. The way she writes you can just picture it all in your mind. These are the kind of books I can read or listen to more than once.
The story really dragged and there were sections of text that were repeated through out the book. I found the book boring and kept waiting for it to get better. I eventually made through all eight hours of the reading but it was painful.
This is one of a series that diana palmer has written .
