Fresh out of college, Ellison Edson has fallen through the cracks of rock bottom. While staying in her family's vacation home in Colorado, her behavior has finally gained the attention of her parents - but not in the way she hoped. Cut off from the millions she's always taken for granted and left alone to fend for herself, Ellie spirals further out of control, making a mistake she can't take back.
Like his twin brother, Taylor, Tyler Maddox is a member of the Alpine Hotshots, fighting wildland fires on the front line. As arrogant as he is charming, Tyler's nomadic lifestyle makes it easy to contain his relationships to one night. When he meets Ellie at a local party during the off-season, her extreme personality and dismissive attitude fascinate him at first, but as his feelings deepen, Tyler realizes that the crippling inner demons of the woman he loves might be the strongest enemy any Maddox has ever faced.

"Loved it all!"
Just as incredible as her other novels! Couldn't stop listening. Loved the depth of the characters and the storyline. Narration was great. Some of the pronunciations of the "s" sounds were very loud and sharp. Couldn't listen with headphones...first time I've ever noticed this being a problem but the audiobook is still worth every penny!
"Beautiful story and fantastic audio"
Ms. McGuire knocked it out of the park with this one. Loved the back and forth between Ellie and Tyler. The way she portrayed Ellie's character and the things she went through in her downward spiral to hit rock bottom was very realistic. I enjoyed every up and down, every laughable moment - and there were a LOT - and the seriousness tone taken just at the right moment. This book was everything I expected and more.
I also listened to the audio book version. The chosen Narrator was the perfect choice. if you are new to audio books or a a frequent listener, you will absolutely, thoroughly delight in listening to this one.
"Love the Maddox Boys!"
I'm so sad this was the last of the Maddox boys...I have loved every story! I love to see them intertwine and hearing the other viewpoints to events that happened in each book. This one is definitely one of my favorites - I'd probably rank it right after Travis' story. These stories are so well written with excellent character and story development. And this narrator was Excellent!! Was able to differentiate each character and give them all their own voice. Loved this series!! Sorry I'm at the end of them!
"Not my fave"
I would recommend this book b/c its part of a really good seriers, but I was not a fan of the story line or the person who read the book.. UGH
I have listened to a LOT of Jamie's book and I really liked them, but this one.. UGH it was tough to get through..
It was the narrator I didn't like...
I am not sure what would have made this romance irresistible, but I do know that I wasn't a fan of the hard core almost butch-ish lead character and the reader sounded drunk or on drugs and that's not how I pitched or thought one of the Maddox boys would be with is all.
"Okay, but not as good as other Beautifuls"
Beautiful disaster is in my top ten romance novels. This selection would not make my top 200. The heroine was a bitch, and I don't use that word loosely. She was selfish, difficult, crass, rude and several other negatives. You wonder what desirable about her. The hero was one dimensional, and wooden. Not Ms. McGuire's best. but readible.
"Love the Maddox Brothers"
I honestly didn't think I could love the Maddox brothers anymore than I already do. I honestly think I'm head over heels lol. Jamie you have done such an amazing job with all of the Maddox books. My top book series ever.
"Love the Twins"
Another GREAT novel on the Maddox brothers series! Couldn't put it down. A must read!!!
the narration was really good. she got into character for each person very very well.
Wish there were more Maddox boys to write about 😀 loved this one just as much as the first
Hard to listen to such a anti-heroine. Hated the beginning. Almost DNF. But the story improved and I appreciate tackling a story with such an unlikeable character.
