A Woman of Substance

This Audio book was as good as reading the original, which I must have read over and over in years gone by (so much so the front cover wore out) but which I lost in floods in 2010/11. This book was a reminder of how books used to be written; proper English, big and expressive words. Bea Holland did a fantastic job as narrator and I’m glad she gave up trying to affect the Australian accent in the end. Truly a great sweeping saga!

Absolutely the best novel I have read!

This novel is by far the best I have ever read (or listened to). My mum named me after Emma before I was born and being 30 years old now, I finally read the book. It is so incredibly heartwarming, touching and inspiring. Cried and laughed on numerous occasions. Wonderful narration also. 10/10 would recommend!
