Journalism graduate student Kate McDermott is a good girl who has done everything she can to please her very powerful and domineering father - a Justice on New York's Supreme Court, with hopes for political office. When she decides to write an article about BDSM in popular culture, she tells herself it's just research and nothing personal, for she can't afford to become the target of gossip or scandal. She hopes that the carefully worded agreement she writes up will keep her relationship with the Dominant she will interview strictly professional.
Then "Master D" - Drake Morgan - walks into the interview and Kate is mortified for not only is he gorgeous, he's the son of her father's best and oldest friend...
Drake Morgan, MD, bass player, philanthropist - Dominant. Known as Master 'D' in Manhattan's BDSM Community, Drake must keep the kinky side of his life secret to protect his very successful career as a neurosurgeon. After a heartbreaking divorce, Drake doesn't do girlfriends, he doesn't do sleepovers, and he certainly doesn't do breakfast in bed the morning after. He keeps everything in his well-ordered life separate and under his firm control.
Then Kate McDermott crosses his path and screws everything up. Now, nothing is neat and tidy anymore. And no longer under control, for Drake is smitten and things are going to get messy....
The Agreement will stay with you long after you listen to the final minute. Ages 18+ only for mature content.

"The complete package"
I want to stand on a rooftop and tell all my fellow audio peeps just how fantastic this book it.
Not only is the storyline so completely enthralling and entertaining, it also sparked a lot of deep thinking about sexuality and the roles gender plays in society. The writing is so smart and intriguing not to mention incredibly sexy and hot. This audio is seriously the complete package.
Emma Wilder is a fantastic narrator and was the most perfect voice for this book. She was able to completely separate all characters in my mind so easily.
Although I received this book in exchange for my review by Audiobook Blast, it in no way is influencing this review. If the remainder of this series is released in audio, I will most definitely be scooping it up. Until then, I'm heading over to Amazon to buy the ebook so I can continue reading SE Lund's gifted writing.
"fantastic beautiful book"
this was inspirational beautiful well done book. even the parts that were dirty were well done with class. you must get this book it is great.
I received this book free from the publisher author or narrator for a honest review and unbiased option via audio book boom.
"Great start to this series"
Reading a bunch of mixed reviews, I did not know what to expect from this book. I have to say, I found it completely entertaining. While some find it similar to 50 Shades, I found it to be much more true and open. The characters are well developed, you can get completely engrossed into their lives, like they are your best friends you are listening to. Drake and Kate begin their journey into becoming dom/sub under the guise of Kate wanting to do an article on the BDSM lifestyle. When she engages into the agency for a Dom, Drake is the recommended teacher and the son of her father's best friend.
I found the character of Kate to be smart, shy, and brave all at the same time. She embraced the lifestyle slowly under the teaching of Drake. Drake...what can I say? He is amazing.... I don't think you can meet a man that has his looks, success and patience. He is perfect, and you can't help but love the man. I cannot wait for the 2nd book to come out on audio.
Emma Wilder...what can I say? She kept me listening. Her portrayal was full of emotion, passion, angst, sadness, love...you felt everything that was happening with her performance of this book. Would definitely grab more of her narrations.

"You Will Remember This Book"
I was given this book in exchange for an unbiased review. This is not your typical dominant/submissive book yet it is. The story is fully developed and is not just a few lines here and there then sex. The narrator did a good job and made the story come alive. Drake and Katie have issues but who doesn't? How they solve them is something else. I await the next book in this series.
"Good Book... Worth the Credit"
I was given a copy of The Agreement by the author or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review of the book.
As I started listening to the book I realized I had read the book some time ago. I enjoyed the story and was happy to hear the story brought to life by Emma Wilder. She did a very good job. The story develops slowly and the heroine got my nerves a couple times but all in all it's a good story. I think it's worth the price of a credit.
"BDSM lite, informative, but fell flat"
I'm undecided on if I would listen to The Agreement again. There were parts that I really enjoyed and found sizzling, but there were parts where the main characters behaviors were contradictory to the theme and plot direction that was set up.
I really liked the information giving on BDSM culture. While some seemed unclear on if it was real life fact and at times was over explained, it all felt logical, and believable. There were some scenes that were very sexy and this played very much as a beginners guide or introductory to BDSM, which fit the plot set up for Kate the heroine of the story.
I really enjoyed Emma's narration. I felt she brought life to the story. Her narration help me get through parts of the storyline that I am unsure I would have been able to get through if I had been reading the book instead. I always knew who was speaking by the cadence and tone she used and it made a distinct separation between the characters when they were speaking.
BDSM a beginners 101 and how not to be judgmental.
This book had so much potential, but just fell flat on a few things for me. I loved the realism of a person who was walking into a lifestyle that was essentially alien to her, and the fact that she had to learn to adjust to surrendering control. However the heroine Kate at times seemed overly judgmental of a lifestyle she was trying and learning about, and seem to over react to minor things but then turn around and be overly submissive. Over all the Hero Drake didn't feel very Alpha or Dominant which made it feel less Dom/sub and more like he was just controlling and picky despite doing some things that fit a BDSM expectation. I absolutely hated the story line with Kate's friend Dawn, and I use the term Friend loosely. Dawn just made me frustrated at Kate for not telling her to shit up and mind her business, and it made the entire BDSM lifestyle out to seem like it was more of an abusive relationship rather than two consenting adults enjoying their sexual preferences or trying new things. I understand how Dawn would initially be concerned for her friend, but if Kate would have simply told her anything along the lines of "I like it, I want to do this, it's consensual, you need to butt out and mind your own business" I would have enjoyed the story line a lot more. Instead her friend held things over her head in the name of being concerned. I disliked how it devolves the story into a more immature Biden relationship than two adults standing up for their own choices, and then in the end it all seemed to be a moot point. I also had a hard time feeling a real connection between Drake and Kate, and though their relationship does evolve into more, it doesn't seem genuine or passionate with true love, which made all the running around, hiding, and then HEA fall short of what could have been a great story. Over all it was enjoyable but at times frustrating and had things that took away from the main plot unnecessarily. I obtained my copy from audiobook boom for my unbiased review.
When Are the others books coming out in audio.they are so good I read them three times.
"What a Great Book and now I want more!!!"
I was given this book in return for unbiased honest opinion. I really liked this book a lot. I did have a character in the story that drove me crazy. Dawn was a pain in my well you know and I wanted to just smack her over and over and over again. She just kept getting into Kate's business and it was driving me crazy. I really started to think she had a crush on Kate. I don't know that girl just had me yelling out to the book like I was watching a movie. Any way the narration was great and the story is wonderful but yes it is a little cliffhanger..ugh. Overall I really enjoyed this book!!
"The Agreement: Unrestrained. A Fantastic Book"
The Agreement by S.E. Lund reminded me of Fifty Shades of Gray at the beginning. However, the characters are more mature. Journalism student, Katheryn McDermott becomes obsessed with the world of BSDM after a nasty breakup.
Drake Morgan is a neurosurgeon, philanthropist, bass player and Kate's father's close friend. He finally gets to meet his "second father's" daughter they both can't help but think that the old man is trying his hand at matchmaking.
Life and circumstances change everything and suddenly things are a lot more complicated.
I loved the story of Fifty Shades and because this one reminded me so much of it, I loved it. The characters were so passionate in their beliefs and it made you choose sides quickly. There are definitely a lot of steamy parts for those of us who enjoy it and a love story for those of us who want more.
I can't wait to see what happens next.
Note, this book is not a cliffhanger.
Emma Wilder was amazing with the delivery of the story
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review but I enjoyed the book so much I am going download the next book in the series.
"Excellent Story! Much better than expected!"
This is not my favorite genre because it is hard for me to find stories I really enjoy. This book was one of the best I have listened to in this genre and topic.
The author did an outstanding job with the story. It sucked me in and it was hard to put it down. It was over 13 hrs of bliss but it went by so quickly, and I really enjoyed every bit of it.
The characters were smart, intriguing, caring, fun, and unpredictable at times. Dawn drove me nuts trying to dictate what Kate could and could not do! How annoying she can be! Too nosy and bossy for a best friend!
The narrator did a great job bringing the story to life. The story is told in Kate's POV. There is no cliffhanger. The author wraps up the story nicely and doesn't leaves us hanging like many authors like to do. The next book in this series will continue their story and I'm looking forward to it! I'm sure there will be more ups and downs but I have really enjoyed this author's writing style.
This audiobook is definitely worth a credit!
**This audiobook was provided free of charge in exchange for my honest unbiased opinion**
I love this book.reminds me of 50 shades of grey.A book I love so much
"Lightly kinky - became repetitive."
Drake sounded like a honey, but it all became tiresome. She cried a lot, some women do I suppose. I became easily bored with the whole scenario.
