When your deepest, darkest fantasy shows up, get onboard. Special Delivery, Book 1.
Sam Keller knows he'll never find the excitement he craves in Middleton, Iowa - not while he's busting his ass in nursing school and paying rent by slaving away in a pharmacy stockroom. Then Sam meets Mitch Tedsoe, an independent long-haul trucker who makes a delivery to a shop across the alley. Innocent flirting quickly leads to a fling, and when Mitch offers to take him on a road trip west, Sam jumps at the chance for adventure.
Mitch is sexy, funny, and friendly, but once they embark on their journey, something changes. One minute he's the star of Sam's every X-rated fantasy, the next he's almost too much a perfect gentleman. And when they hit the Las Vegas city limit, Sam has a name to pin on Mitch's malady: Randy. For better or for worse, Sam grapples with the meaning of friendship, letting go, growing up - even the meaning of love - because no matter how far he travels, eventually all roads lead home.
This book has been previously published and has been revised from its original release.
Warning: This story contains trucker fantasies, threesomes, and kinky consensual sex.

"Sexy with a swoon/sigh worthy ending!"
I've now read this four times and each time I fall just a little more in love with Sam and Mitch and all their sexy shenanigans.
Wow, this one is just chock full of sex and kink - a little dominance, a little exhibition, the desire to be used and feel like a whore with a side helping of humiliation...well, yeah, the sex in this is pretty steamy.
There are also quite a few mind games played once Randy comes on the scene. Look, I'm just going to say it - I'm not a fan of Randy. I sort of wish he never showed up, even though he propels Mitch and Sam's relationship forward by providing some necessary pushing and as much as I hate to admit it, he's totally necessary to solidifying their relationship. And he sort of grows on me a little more every time I read this.
As for the narration, I felt like Iggy Toma really captures the characters so well. I loved his character voices for everyone, even when I was cringing while listening to Randy be all mind f**k and smarmy.
I enjoy the whole story: the characters, the plot, the humor...but it's the ending of this that always brings me back for more. *sighs* Man, I love that ending.
If you like books with lots of sex and a swoon/sigh worthy ending...you should definitely give this a go!
I have read this series at least 15 times and the addition of audio to a story both familiar and beloved is astounding. The range of Iggy's narration is incredible. I cannot recommend this entire series enough. Get the books but stay for the smoothly sexy voice of Iggy Toma.
The narration of this novel was excellent! I enjoyed the performance.
The story itself is interesting, but from an emotional standpoint, it is not overly deep. Please do read the warnings on this novel. If any of the warnings make you uncomfortable, this is not the book for you. I very much liked the characters in the novel and the read was definitely worth my time.
"WOW steamy...just WOW"
Heidi Cullinan has done it again! This story was so different with a truck driver and a college student as the MC'S. I enjoyed the cross country trip with them and how they got to know one another. Their Vegas stop is so steamy I'm still smiling. I think I cried every time he parted with his mom's ashes. I loved this book and as always Iggy Toma you are my favorite narrator. I am in love with your voice!!!
I read the Special Delivery series quite awhile ago but hadn't listened to them on audio. Then I listened to Short Stay from Heidi's Love Lessons series and found that it combines characters from both series. I got all fan girl excited and decided to listen to the Special Delivery series again.
Holy hotness Batman! I had totally forgotten how panty steaming hot this story is. Wow. I can barely string my sentences together for a coherent review. Just listen to this one. Igay Toma is perfect to narrate these stories. I have to say that the deep growly voice he gave Mitch was awesome.
There is some light angst in the story as well as a couple of tear inducing moments. All the good feels you could ask for.
"Non-conventional relationships - Ho!"
I read this story before it had been made available as an audio book and really enjoyed it. I have found that Heidi Cullinan does a really good job of exploring non-conventional kinks/relationships while still making the characters sympathetic and likable. In particular I think it could be difficult to deal with the subjugation/humiliation element - Sam's desire for it and Mitch's reservations about exploring and possibly exploiting that desire are handled well.
I love Iggy Toma as a narrator - and I love him as a narrator for this book. That said, there is *something* about this book in audio.
When reading the book I didn't like Randy at the beginning, but by the end he'd grown on me. In the audio - even by the end, I was not a huge fan of the Randy character, at least the first listen through. (I have since listened to all 3 Special Delivery books through multiple times, and have a different perspective - but as a stand alone, and on first listen I found Randy off-putting all the way through, which was not true when I actually *read* the book.)
This book is kinky, steamy, and non-conventional and may be a pass for some people because of that - but for me - it's gone on the repeated re-listen list and is imho well worth the time and credit/purchase.
"not bad but so confusing"
While I liked parts of this book, I just never fully connected to the characters.
This book is kinky in a very specific way. It plays a little bit with dominance and submission, but mostly it is about exhibition and the desire to feel dirty and used.
However, I think things got muddled a bit for me when Randy came into the picture. I felt like Mitch's relationship with Randy was very complicated and I didn't come away from the book understanding it much. I didn't get why Randy pushed with Sam so hard and what he got out of the whole arrangement. I also wanted to understand what happened with Mitch's past boyfriends in more detail because of all that was alluded to that in the story.
I felt like the scenes with Randy took a lot away from the development of Sam and Mitch as a couple.
