On the mountain, the watcher seeks out evil women. And then they die.
Two years ago, when Jake Hunt uncollared his slave, she committed suicide. Guilt-ridden, he will commit to a woman for one night only, devoting his energy to a mountain lodge that caters to a BDSM crowd.
Kallie Masterson is tough. Unwanted as a child, she worked hard to become a wilderness guide. She's proud of who she is, and hurt that Jake frowns on her for acting like a man.
After rescuing the macho guide from a bar fight, Jake is stunned that the ugly men's clothing hides a warm, responsive woman. A submissive woman. When guide business brings her to the lodge on BDSM night, and she is obviously aroused by the play, Jake takes the little sub right into his world of pain and pleasure. He warns her: one night only. But she responds so beautifully - so joyously - under his command, that one night soon becomes two, then three... Then a missing hiker reminds Jake of his past lover, and he realizes he's become too involved. He pulls back.
Meanwhile, the watcher on the mountain has rendered his verdict: Kallie Masterson is evil. The sentence: death.

"This audible book was so worth the wait!!"
I have read this amazing book by Ms Sinclair a number of times but bringing it to audible made the book even better. I LOVED the performance from such talented individuals (sorry I have been up all night and I am to lazy to get your names. I couldn't stop listening) anyway the only criticism I have is I am a slow reader so it seemed a little rushed but other than that it was AMAZING!! I do hope Ms Sinclair continues to use you for the rest of the books. Thanks for such a wonderful performance. You made my day.
"Sexy read that made me laugh and cry"
There was a very compelling storyline. I loved the interaction between the main characters and the supporting characters. There was realistic dialogue that made the book glow quickly. The narrators were both
I had read the book before and knew it was a great read, but I had to listen to the narration when it came out. I thought that Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross did a great job of narration bringing the characters to life. A good story plus good narration equals a great listen. Made the drive to work more interesting!
"narrators ruined the book"
I really can't stand these two narrators, their voices are annoying, their acting skills are terrible, it's like listening to high schoolers put on their first play. I would have preferred to read the hard copy myself.
"another winner for me"
Her books always strike just the right balance of hot sex and interesting story lines!!
It’s never just a case of tying her up and spanking her ass until she figures out how much she enjoys it.It's all about feelings, both physical and emotional.
Jake was a sweetheart, I love how he loved Kallie for who she was, but also got her to embrace her feminine side and really see how loved and valued she was. Kallie was way too insecure for me, but with her situation, it was understandable.
I have read reviews about Wen Ross and what a great narrator how is...I disagree. He reads these dominant male roles and his voice does not sound masculine at all. Just not a good match for the books that I've read with him narrating. The voice doesn't fit the character, which makes it difficult for me to read.
Hot. Hotter. Hottest. I've read a lot of BAD BDSM novels, but this was NOT one of them. Sinclair captured the essence of Dominant/Submissive interaction without any of the cheese factor. Kai & Wen were superb storytellers, using different vocal inflections for each person in the story so it was easy to differentiate.
"So sweet you just can't stop"
The entire story. Cherise has a wonderful way of telling the story that you just can't stop reading or listening.
There are too many to name and some would give too much away
How well they got all the emotions across and how you could truly feel the story through their voices.
The end of the book but I won't give details because that would just give away the story and I won't give out spoilers.
This story is so sweet and touching. It's heartfelt all throughout it and so easy to relate to. I love how Cherise writes her Dom's and Sub's. Her Dom's are so strong and yet you can tell they have a heart and her Sub's have a backbone of steel and won't answer to just anyone. Her stories paint the true hardships of all relationships (not just D/S) and this is a perfect example. I love how she paint's true beauty with her words.
It's very good. I really enjoyed it.
I would compare this to the other books in the series, especially the first one, Master of the Mountain.
Everything - the way they become the characters. It's like listening to a play or movie or real life, not a reading. They suck me right into the experience of the story.
Yes. There was a lot of suspense. Unfortunately, my job got in the way.
Cherise Sinclair is one of my favorite BDSM authors, and Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross's narration just takes her books up another notch.
"No one please"
I want more.
The story was amazing and beautiful and held a certain suspense that I don't remember from my first reading. The way these narrators told the story was beautiful amazing and left you enjoying so much more than just the story line. They may be converting me from a book reader to an audio listeber
