When passionate professor Conner Devlin meets oversexed student Emma Fiore, the sparks ignite: he’ll train her to be his classroom sex slave, carrying out his every desire, while she gets to experience the forbidden pleasure of submissive love before her marriage to a dull and unfeeling man. But Emma’s sizzling and insatiable desires soon overwhelm Conner and he finds himself hopelessly in love with his young submissive. Emma accepts him as her sexual Master, but will she have him as her real-life lover?Through the means of BDSM and the demands of extreme sex, Conner tries to break down the barriers between them and make Emma acknowledge her feelings. Their passions erupt in a cataclysm of raw emotion that rocks them both and fuses them in a transcendent love.
Told with intense honesty from the dominant’s point of view, A Good Student gives a rare and searing look inside a man’s heart as he’s caught in the throes of a compelling and overwhelming love and passion, all his thoughts and feelings exposed. Listening to Conner’s confessions is like having your own personal Master tell you everything he feels, with a poet’s skill and a therapist’s insight. You’ll never look at the dynamics of D/s and a man’s sexuality the same way again.

"An Erotic Eye-Opener!"
I normally don't care for erotica by men because they seem to concentrate on the sex and miss all the tension and romance and inner feeling. And I especially don't "get" most BDSM which just seems like sadism to me. But I bought this book on the advice of some friends who said it would change my mind on both male authors and BDSM, and I must say they were right! This one was a real surprise and quite an erotic eye-opener, and I don't think I'll ever look at BDSM or men's erotica in quite the same way again.
The story's very sexual and very hot, but what makes it truly special is the character of the passionate but ne'er-do-well Professor Conner Devlin, the hero and narrator of the story. Devlin is three things that most men are not: sensitive, emotional, and articulate enough to communicate the emotions and feelings that drive him to have this illicit BDSM affair with a much younger student. Hearing Devlin's story is like taking a guided tour through a man's brain as he deals with lust and love and desire, and the trip is a lot more interesting and informative than you might imagine. His passions and emotions spill out of his story, and in his anguish and desire to possess his lover, we get a new appreciation of just how BDSM works as an expression of love to those who practice it.
The actors have done a lovely job with the performance, and the story is most definitely performed and not merely read. Peter Klein brings a wry, worldliness to Conner Devlin, and Alicia Roberts as Emma is his perfect foil in her semi-naivete and innocent-yet-knowing ways. As much as Conner pushes her into the relationship, she for her part pulls him in too, for her own reasons, and it's fascinating to see how this relationship, which a purely physical arrangement at the start, blossoms into an obsessive love almost etnirely on the basis of their sexual experiences.
This is one you can listen to over and over, always learning something new.
"Oh my, was this HOT!!!"
I loved it! It was HOT HOT HOT!!! I really enjoyed the voices, especially
Peter's...really sexy!!, and the intensity of the story was amazing!! Loved hearing Conner's thoughts. This makes the word Passion take on a new meaning. Wonderful!!
"Interesting for a female"
Interesting read, entertaining for a female and informative for a male who has never experienced or indulged in this kind of domineering sexual intensity. Average read however, based on the wealth of knowledge that can be gained from this topic and maybe if it was written from a females perspective that knowledge gap would be filled. Would recommend this book to a female though for her entertainment and also to hear her views to see if what he is doing is actually what is to be done.
"A Good Student Deserves Excellent Grades"
This book commences with a scene-setting that most others lack. It is both honest and sensitive to the complexities associated with BDSM start-up relationships and is delivered with total engagement by the performers (I cannot say 'readers' because they bring the developing relationship to life with deep authenticity).
Down at heel author working as part time lecturer. Younger student at Community College. Subtle revelations leading to disclosures of past experiences, issues explored. Honesty eventuates, and the combinations of needs being met to a certain extent.
All within an excellent text style reminiscent of Rattigan or even Fitzgerald, if only more people were alive to the quality of this particular genre.
"Very Horny Stuff"
Its always good to read stories that raise your libido & get you horny. This is very arousing. I was walking around the Botanical Gardens listening to my ipod with a huge smile on my face. I wish there were more like this!!
"Stimulating and surprisingly sexy"
This story constantly had me involved and titillated. Perhaps because I was a teacher with many frustrating days in the company of attractive young women... The reading was particularly effective, with the woman's voice being very provocative and sexy. The man's voice was unusual with its Bostonian accent, but it worked very well. I highly recommend this one!
The author does an outstanding job of pulling you into each hot and steamy scene in this book. After every encounter you are left dry and panting for more. I have read many stories of Bondage and Submission but none that so accurately describes the intense desire a woman can have for this kind of sexual satisfaction. Emma truly has a hunger that cannot be satisfied by any "Normal" relationship. I could not help but wonder, no HOPE that this story was real. Everyone deserves to have at least one perfect "Love Slave" encounter in their lives and this is the perfect script to inspire us all. Gold stars also to the woman reader of Emma's part. She could make reading the New York phonebook sound stimulating !
"The "Why" Behind the "How" of a BDSM Relationship"
If you ever wondered what is the psychology at work inside a mind of a BDSM seducer, here is your fascinating answer. Contained within a delicious and methodically unfolding plot, the story's narrator explains things sometimes to the reader, and at other times quite lustfully yet tenderly to his subject/student during the course of her seduction. Both narrators use their voices with exquisite skill, especially at their most intimate moments. Erotically educational as well as thoroughly entertaining.
"Absolutely Awsome book for this subject!"
This is NOT your ordinary "cheap thrill" erotica, 3-5 predictable short story lines and poorly written. This book examines the internal thoughts, feelings, emotions, and passions of a dominate/submissive relationship. My wife and I will occasionally experiment with a dominate/submissive type sex play and she always asks me what is going through my head, what am I thinking while in the dominate role to better understand what parts are erotic for me and why. When I listened to this book, I finally found a tool that I could use to help her understand not only what goes through a dominates mind, but she also got to hear the "students" character of being a submissive and how it might relate to her when she assumes that role.
After hearing this book I had to listen with her so I could point out my parallel thoughts, feelings and emotions when playing a dominate role. It really helped her understand more about what excited me about being a dominate, therefore, could relate better when playing like that.
It was also nice to see the loving, tender, caring and emotional side of a dominate person. So many BDSM stories seem to focus on more "cruelty" than developing the personalities, feelings and emotions that the author develops with these characters. It is SO refreshing to have a book so well written that when listening can suck you right into the scene, grip you and not let you go. The story line is for the most part, very believable which also helped keep my attention.
Performance wise, I thought the female reader did and extraordinary job. However, I didn't like the male readers voice and I had to work a little for it not to distract me. He performed/read well it's just his voice sounded too old for the character making me think at times he sounded more like a "dirty old man" with a very young girl, Might have been a little better with a little "younger" sounding voice. But again well performed and read.
There has to be more from this author, please!
"Savage and passionate. Mabeuse invites us inside."
Mabeuse gives his readers a rare and precious gift: an engraved invitation into the mind and soul of a dominant man languishing in his world of restraint. In A Good Student, he enthralls the reader by creating complex, entirely human characters and then permitting us to eavesdrop on their private hopes, fears, doubts and desires. No, not eavesdrop; that implies an uninvited observer. Listening to Peter Klein’s nuanced performance, I felt like a priest summoned to the confessional of Mabeuse’s darkest imagination. I felt my heart leap into my throat each time the Professor felt an impulse to take just a little bit more from Emma and then dared to push her just a little bit farther.
Mabeuse certainly pushed me over the edge, and the fall was glorious. He’s quite cunning in his use of fluid rhythms and elegant diction, lulling me with the beauty of his writing, only to cause my breathing to hitch with the stark, graphic language men and women employ at their most primal moments. Be warned: Mabeuse surreptitiously inserts a mainline into his readers instincts, only to inject his literary stimulants straight into that most powerful erotic organ: the mind.
Unlike other authors who seek to affect their readers while leaving themselves impenetrable, Mabeuse opens a two-way door to erotic struggle and surrender. Having obtained consent, he takes over the reader’s imagination and remains in control through the entire book. But he also humbly shares his secrets with us, entrusting his vulnerabilities to our care: “I wanted her to know who I was inside. I wrote porn and I pretended to look down on it. But when I wrote, I poured my heart and soul into the page, and I knew it showed.” It certainly does, Professor Mabeuse. It certainly does.
"Didn't like it"
ok i am officially covering my eyes while i write this. i am ashamed to write i bought this out of curiosity..honest! Here is my take on this: i didn't know its a story about a teacher and a student in school (collage). This is absolutely not my up of tea but i have been told some people are into this. If this is your fantasy, buy it.
There is no actual story just packed sexual content. The narrator should stick to stories like Casablanca because he sounds like Humphrey Bogart otherwise I kept imaging him like a sleazy old professor exploiting on a young girl. Couldn't get this thought out of my head!
