A novel that grips from the very beginning and that will live long in the memory, The Last Thing I Remember is Deborah Bee's startling debut thriller.
Sarah is in a coma. Her memory is gone - she doesn't know how she got there. And she doesn't know how she might get out. But then she discovers that her injury wasn't an accident. And that the assailant hasn't been caught.
Unable to speak, see or move, Sarah must use every clue that she overhears to piece together her own past. And work out who it is that keeps coming into her room.

"Are you like F*ing kidding me??"
I understand that the author wanted us to know the character of a foul mouthed 14 year old girl, but the immature dialogue and nonstop f*words from the teenagers and almost every other character in the book ruined what could have potentially been an interesting story. There was also a lot of confusing build up to a very rushed ending. I am not at all impressed by this author or her very poorly written debut novel.
Almost gave up on this book a few times but glad now that I stuck through it. Great ending and now I would like to listen to it again to pick up on some of the clues I missed.
"THE LAST THING I REMEMBER..."
Yes, I loved it!! The narrators were wonderful!
Yes, you just weren't sure what was going to happen.
They were believable!
LOVED THIS BOOK, HATED TO SEE IT END! (HER SISTER WAS A LITTLE RAY OF SUNSHINE.)
despite a slightly more than average swear ratio, this book was great. I'm a hardened mystery reader and I genuinely didn't guess the ending!
I loved this book! Brilliant story and the narration was outstanding. Kelly is a brilliant character. Sorry it's ended !!
I listened to this audio book in one day, I could not put it down. Kelly is hilarious, despite the seriousness of the story. Brilliantly written and excellent narration. Very sad it had to end.
"Not for me!"
What could have been a good story was ruined by the excessive swearing. By chapter 18, every second sword in a sentence was the "F" word, which just made me give up on the book. I couldn't listen to anymore.
"Absolutely brilliant - Yes there's bad language but please don't be put off by it!"
I hadn't read anything by this author, in all honesty, I hadn't even heard of this author before I got this book. But... I'm SO happy I've read/listened it.
When I started this audiobook, I wasn't keen on the narrator for Kelly's voice - Kelly uses a lot of bad language (like, every other word, give or take) and I wasn't 100% convinced I'd enjoy this book despite the good reviews.
I can honestly - hand-on-heart - say I'm very upset the book has ended!
Yes there's bad language but I LOVE Kelly! I love her fight and spirit. I love her outlook and views. I absolutely love the narrator for Kelly (I actually loved both narrators). This is a simple book, there's a simple storyline but at the same time, there's so much going on. Everything is linked and tied up in the end. There wasn't a single point where this story 'dragged' or 'lost momentum'. Each chapter perfectly unravelled the story. I like how there are several themes running through this book; especially the whole 'being pretty/beautiful' and the need for the characters to blend in.
Yes there's bad language but please, please don't be put off by it!!! You won't regret it!
"Shame about the bad language"
Probably not. Simply because I found the swearing excessive and think most of my friends would agree.
It's basically a good story, told from different viewpoints which I liked and it's not too long.
Yes, I'm open to listening to both. They were both good readers, it was the the swearing I didn't like but that was how the book was written.
An overall good listen and I'm obviously in the minority when I say I did not like the Kelly character. Yes, I know she's typical of today's generation but the excessive swearing was way too much for me. (But, I am an old fuddy duddy of 70)
"Not as good as the reviews say"
The book is well written and funny. The twist at the end is a common commercial thriller twist but it's still good. Would have liked more action and suspense. Bit slow at times.
