Twenty years running from your past. Today it catches up.
A gripping psychological thriller for fans of Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train.
Leah Mills lives a life of a fugitive - kept on the run by one terrible day from her past. It is a lonely life, without a social life or friends until, longing for a connection, she meets Julian.
For the first time she dares to believe she can live a normal life. Then, on the 20th anniversary of that day, she receives a card. Someone knows the truth about what happened. Someone who won't stop until they've destroyed the life Leah has created. But is Leah all she seems? Or does she deserve everything she gets?
Everyone has secrets. But some are deadly.
The Girl with No Past spent over four weeks at number one in the Amazon chart.

"S l o w"
I just kept waiting and waiting for this book to get better- it did towards the end. But the end.... ugh.
A bit slower than my usual selection, but great story! I would definitely recommend it.
"Dribbling the Plot"
The author can write well with a wonderful turn of phrase but she needs some help with the plot. The later story was a solid mystery if a bit predictable but chapter after chapter of the earlier story was badly paced. I kept thinking, "Get to the point already...". The early story was needlessly tedious. The ending was also no big surprise.
Narration was spectacular.
"Leigh Mills - the girl who wants to lose her past"
The book is really two books; one is Leigh's past and the other is Leigh's present. Each chapter relates to one of those periods; no two consecutive chapters related to the same period.
Yes, the past is only revealed in small parts yet the past in total explains the present. Thus, as the author relates bits and pieces from the past, the reader begins to understand the present.
No, but she is perfect for this book
Not so much moved but the next to the last chapter was somewhat of a surprise and somewhat mystifying. I don't want to reveal the plot but one wonders how she survived.
It has been several
days since I finished the book. I am still thinking about her future. Lots of surprises and quite a scary ending. Would loved a second book about her rebuilding her life.
"I had high hopes"
The story had potential and I stuck with it, hoping it would finally take off. It didn't.
"I liked it, but a little cheesy."
Honestly I liked this book and thought it was good, although not my favorite. It definitely kept me interested, but at times it got a little cheesy and unbelievable.
"Extremely long for so little context"
This could have been a short story, caracteres are week. Story is really bad. I would not recomend
"Strange to Follow"
A huge disappointment is all I can say?
I tried listening to this audio several times over to no avail...... Lisa Colman's narrative
voice is the only thing that allowed me to continue five attempts to try and understand this Strange audio book that only got Stranger to me each chapter. If I rated this novel 1-10 books I have listen to .... it's a one and it's hard to even do that because Lisa Colman's narration was very good however because she even read this story to us I gave it a one. Croft I'm totally upset your publishing company told you this was okay??? DeAnn DeVille
"Readable but not memorable"
I enjoyed this book in parts and it had the potential to be a captivating thriller. Told in first person, the story flits between events in the past and events in the present. However, I found so many of the actions of the main character completely unrealistic, far more than bad judgement and just ended up irritated. I wanted to read to the end to gather all the pieces of the story but I wasn't wowed by the quality of the language, which as it's told in first person is speech like. Readable definitely but I'm glad it was on sale.
"A good one!"
Truly gripping, till the very end! excellent narration and easy read! finished it within days!
Never saw the ending coming!!
You think it's heading to one conclusion... then a possible different direction.
Literally the last couple of minutes and the twist is revealed.
Great story and well written, enjoyed the audio book at my convenience. Couldn't wait for the next chapter as each was so enticing. Highley recommended. I look forward in hearing more from this author. The narrator reads well and keeps you engaged at all times.
This had me gripped from the beginning, twists an turns till the end , wow even down to the last sentence !!! A best seller even the narrator has an amazing voice
Very monotone throughout.
By the ending I didn't really care what happened or who did what.
Good listen. Kept my interest especially the flash backs. What an ending! Occasionally the volume was low.
struggled to finish this. very drawn out and quite unrealistic in parts. would not recommend
Never returned a book before but just couldn't listen to this, jarring, mono-tone narrator with an odd rhythm to her voice. Couldn't listen and gave up! too tricky to follow
"Twists and turns and very well read"
I really enjoyed this book. Some unexpected twists and a real feeling of what the main character is going through.
