Publisher's Summary

In this exciting sequel to the acclaimed Dead I Well May Be, the mercenary Michael Forsythe is forced to infiltrate an Irish terrorist cell, confronting murder, mayhem, and the prospect of his own execution.

Michael is on holiday in Spain when a soccer riot between the Paddies and the Brits escalates out of control and he winds up in a Spanish prison. Enter Samantha, a beautiful British Intelligence agent. She makes Michael an offer he can't refuse: instead of extradition to Mexico to serve time for a prison break, he can infiltrate an IRA sleeper cell in the United States. Thrust into the nightmare world of men known for their distinctive brands of torture and revenge, Michael crosses and double-crosses key players, narrowly escapes his own lies, loses his only ally, and falls for the daughter of his enemy.

Don't miss these other noir thrillers in the Michael Forsythe series: Dead I Well May Be (Unabridged) and The Bloomsday Dead (Unabridged).

Superhuman Irishmen

Remember folks, smashing an Irishman’s scrotum to a pulp and hours of other assorted tortures only gives him superhuman strength!

McKinty does it again

I am now a devoted McKinty fan, but only if it's narrated by Gerard Doyle. Highly recommend. This is book 2 of 3 books. Also recommend the Detective Sean Duffy Series set in Belfast.

Can’t get enough!

Everything about the way Adrian McKinty writes and Gerard Doyle narrates is magic! I can’t get enough of these and the Sean Duffy books. I will be bereft when I’m through them all.

WOW WOW WOW

Why don't they make movies that have great stories like this... instead of those ridiculous Marvel superhero pieces of extravagant trash... Anyhow loved this audiobook ...well done Gerard Doyle on narration and excellent exciting thrilling suspenseful realistic and gritty writing by Adrian McKinley....I came in on the second book (which is this one) there are three in the series so I have read the third and am I looking forward to the first one... I personally do not mind blood and gore in a story but a little warning to those that are perhaps more sensitive, that there are some graphic torture scenes....

Better and better

There isn’t a McKinty book I haven’t loved and this one was an absolute cracker. Can’t remember the last time I’ve been that tense - this is about as perfect as a genre like this can get.
Also a huge call out to narrator Gerard Doyle. He was on song with his superb reading of the Sean Duffy series and is as brilliant in this Forsythe series. Amazing!
I need to start the next book NOW!!!!!

Brilliant Narator

Doyle has to be one of the best, if not the very BEST Narrator I have ever been lucky to listen to. I will listen to him any time

Saved by Gerard Doyle

This time Michael is up against an incompetent if brutal American IRA splinter group. Improbably he falls for a very annoying teenager, and confesses to being an informant for the FBI. Predictably it ends badly. The scenes set in the smokehouse need some serious editing. I got to the point where I would have rather they just killed our hero than have to keep listening. Gerard Doyle’s wonderful accent and voice saved the day.
