Harry is back, assigned to the LAPD's Open-Unsolved Unit with his former cop ally and partner, Kizmin Rider. These detectives are the Closers. They are thrown into a politically sensitive and dangerous case when a white supremacist is connected to the 1988 murder of a mixed-race girl.
The police department has changed, but one thing hasn't--Harry's nemesis, Irving. The former deputy chief has been pushed from power and given a virtually meaningless new role. Full of vengeance, Irving calls Harry a "retread". He watches from the sidelines like an injured bear, hoping Harry will make a mistake...

Best Bosch book in ages. would even serve as a first into to the series.
"Let down by glitchy audio..."
... but otherwise a well read Harry Bosch novel, Will a few nice plot twists and a good ending.
"Classical detective drama "
Another superbly composed book that keeps you wanting to move quickly from one page to another until reach the climatic end.
A Fantastic book.
"Quality and music"
Great but some areas when the recording stuttered and skipped - quality checking worth doing.
Also don't think the odd bits of random jazz are necessary as it distracts from listening to the story
"not the strongest bosch"
Len is one of my favourite narrators and the overall story is good but the ending is very predictable. I worked out the killer by roughly the 5th hour, but this didn't detract from the overall journey.
