Good Police Prodedural
This dark and grim tale was a good police procedural. I haven’t come across this author previously but I would read more. What I liked about this was the team all worked together, no bad cop trying to usurp the others. DI Robbins was a likeable character and the balance between personal and professional life was just right for me. It’s a pleasant change for the lead detective not be flawed, this is a tired theme for me

Long winded story with an abrupt end.
Detective can definitely not be described as "brilliant" here. Did not solve the case, stumbled on culprit with no logic behind the operation. Would not recommend.

I regret listening to the whole audiobook
it was a struggle to deal with this book. it covers an was extremely unpleasant subject and is written in a very basic way that involves clumsy switchea between first and third person narratives throughout the book. descriptions were repetitive to the extent that I was unsure if I had accidentally skipped back to a section if the audiobook that I'd already heard.
the narrator has a pleasant voice and did an ok job, although at times she sounded too emotionless.

Great read
Aaah what can I say. A difficult subject but one that was written in a way not to be too disturbing. The ending was amazing but sad and happy all rolled up in one. If you like JD Kirk, David Gatward, JM Dalgleish, Alex Smith etc you will like this. I am about to go buy the next book.

Pleased l decided to listen to this book!
A new author for me - so iit was interesting.
l find increasingly there is a self delusional aspect to crime writing where the cop characters believe they are " saving the world". Very childish stuff this rhetoric.

Mildly Irritating
The storyline wasn’t bad, hard listening due to subject matter but the main character was irritating and patronising. I’m not sure if it was due to the narrator’s delivery which also irked me. Sounded like she was explaining things to a child at times. Over detailed in parts and then came to an abrupt end.

Great ending but hard work getting there.
Too much narrating by Hannah and not enough dialogue between other characters.
Was a little tedious and didn’t hold my attention. Ending was great and will not disappoint, if you can stay awake until you get there
