Another thrilling case featuring Detective Inspector Geraldine Steel.
When a man dies in a gas explosion, the police suspect arson, and the Murder Investigation Team is called in to investigate. But the case takes on a new and terrible twist when a local villain is viciously attacked. As the police enquiries lead from the expensive Harchester Hill estate to the local brothel, a witness dies in a hit-and-run. Was it coincidence - or cold-blooded murder?
The Murder Investigation Team has problems of its own – and so does Geraldine Steel. A shocking revelation threatens her peace of mind as the investigation races towards its dramatic climax.

"A well-written, soundly plotted, psychologically acute story." (Marcel Berlins, The Times)
"Road Closed is a gripping, fast-paced read, pulling you in from the very first tense page and keeping you captivated right to the end with its refreshingly compelling and original narrative." (Sam Millar, New York Journal of Books)
"A brilliant talent in the thriller field." (Jeffery Deaver)
I would easily recommend this book to my friends. It was an interesting story, well written and kept my interest. The narrator did a really good job differentiating between characters. I think her performance added to the story.
Not sure which one as although I love murder mysteries that would be akin to comparing apples with oranges! I have also enjoyed trillers such as the Girl in the Ice and No Coming Back
Too difficult to choose one over the other. Lucy did an exceptional job with each character.
It was great being able to listen to the book in its audible format for times when my eyes were too tired to read the tablet or I was doing something mundane and could listen to the book.
I was very impressed with the first book in the Geraldine Steel series and was anticipating many happy hours of listening when I found out that there were 4 books in the series. Unfortunately books 2 and 3 do not quite live up to the promise of the first book, although they are still an easy enjoyable listen with a likeable main character. The characterisation is pretty good in all the books but books 2 and 3 suffer from over simplified plots.
