Librarian Aurora Teagarden reckons she knows everything about her fellow townsfolk, including which ones share her interest in the darker side of human nature, as she and her friends have formed a club to discuss real life killings. But fiction soon becomes fact as more and more bodies are discovered, and the similarities between prior murders and those of Aurora's fellow townsfolk become frighteningly common.

The story concept sounded great but for me, it fell short of it's potential. I found the characters rather bland and although the outline of a love triangle was sketched, the two gentlemen were painted in a way that made them rather boring and there was little chemistry between them and aurora.
Charlaine Harris has worked on this in her subsequent novels and the story was engaging enough for me to finish it and wonder if things pick up in later in this series.
"Excellent murder mystery"
A murder mystery written with plenty of humour. The characters were easy to relate to and brought to life by Therese Plummer.
I really enjoyed meeting the main character Aurora Teagarden, and look forwards to the rest of this charming series.
The author creates a charming heroine, in Aurora Teagarden. Written with a gentle sense of humour, this is a murder mystery which will keep you guessing right to the end.
Therese Plummer's performance is faultless. She brings all the characters to life, and makes the book a real pleasure to listen to.
Now starting to listen to this series. Enjoyed this and just downloaded book 2. At that point I'll know if I will follow all the series- so far don't see why not.
