"Wonderful police thriller set in Savannah!"
Pretty Dead is the third novel in the Elise Sandburg series. The first two were disappointing, but this one makes the series worthwhile. I hope that the author continues the series.
This whole series is excellent in my opinion. At the end of the third book I was smiling and hoping that the author continues the story of these people.
This series is absolutely on my best reads list. While I didn't always like or understand some of the actions the characters had to certain situations, I nevertheless cheered them on until the end! After a couple of revelations I gasped out loud and felt my body tense up like I was right there with them! Fantastic read and I'm definitely looking forward to the next book by Ms Frasier!
"Wow can't wait for the 4th book"
The fourth book in this series is coming out in 2017. Can't wait for it to be available on Audible.
"Best of the trilogy."
The novel is a great read. Entertaining from start to finish. I would recommend the trilogy.
"Third time is a charm."
I felt like the first two books started off slow, but number three is outstanding.
Each book in this series gets better. I hesitated giving book 2 a 4 star rating but this one earned it solid. Even though early on I figured out the mystery, it had a plot twist that grabbed me. Again, the characters are unique and the suspense makes your heart pound. I can't wait for a next installment, if one is planned. It's nice that this one didn't end with a cliffhanger, but rather a possible start of something new. I'd recommend this book and you can even read it as a stand alone as enough is summarized about background stories that you don't have to start with book one.
I have no idea if the story was good or not because o was so annoyed and distracted by the reader. All I know is the cadence and tone are horrid.
"Love the series"
First of all - I absolutely recommend reading/listening to all 3 of these books, and in order. The performance by Natalie Ross is incredible.
There were a few things in this one, however, that I didn't love , having binge listened to this series in a short time. It seemed like a few story moments in this third book were off. Some moments were overdramatized and unnecessarily drawn out with excessive inner dialogue, and a few decisions were made that seemed naive or plain foolish for competent and professional detectives. I could describe it as having entered into a soap opera zone there for awhile... But- it's fiction and a great read so I'm willing to play along.
Overall - the Elise and David story is definitely worth sticking with, and it's worth saying again --the narration is so excellent, the widely varied voices keep the listener locked in.
"Love this series"
Love this series looking forward to the next adventure as well as the next Bodyreader.
Not sad to see the original antagonist killed off... there wasn't anything like able about her... hoping the bleeping jerk that caused the death of Gould's son gets his comeuppance and then dies a slow tortured death. 😡
I love the connection and comradery between the two lead characters and hope to see more of JC, her father and his blushing new bride!
"Catching from start to finish"
Like the previous two books this story catch from the start and is hard to take a break from. Interesting and exciting. Waiting for the next one already!
