A public plaza in Indiana. Five people are killed in cold blood, shot through the head. But he leaves a perfect trail of evidence behind him, and soon the local police chief tracks him down. After his arrest, the shooter's only words are, 'Get Jack Reacher for me.' What could possibly connect this psychopath and the wandering dropout ex-army cop?
Critics call Lee Child's thriller series 'addictive', so here is our annual, much-longed for, Reacher fix.

The musical brakes at the high points was annoying, but even with that the story was amazing.
"Hero for the times"
Suspense all the way and a satisfying conclusion. Although a little unbelievable, in that Reacher always wins, it is the path to that victory that ultimately draws in the reader/listener. You want to know how he works things out, why he becomes involved... Reacher is, basically, a very likeable character, a 'goodie'. And Jeff Harding is a great listen.
"A good recipe for success"
Child does it so well. Sneaks in a twist or two, a couple of females and of course some baddies to defeat with his bare hands.
"Running out of Reacher"
Satisfying, quality, enjoyable
This release was a bonus, my husband and I thought we were at the end of the Reacher series, SO GLAD...this was one of the best!
"Very well read Reacher book"
I see that one reviewer does not like the Lee Child/Reacher style of speech or writing. It's a question of taste; I think it underlines Reacher's detached emotional position very well. The plots are economical in that every observation of Reacher's comes in useful for the plot at some stage. Of course, there are many common elements between the books. They are hardly great literature but IMO they work very well. It is astonishing that Lee Child is English.
I am very fussy about my narrators and think Jeff Harding is very good. All the characters have their own voices, women as well as men. Everything about the delivery suits the story. It's a really professional performance. I think reading audiobooks sorts out the real actors from the rest.
"Reacher, not Cruise"
Jack Reacher 6 feet 5 inches and 220 pounds. Tom Cruise does not fit the bill. An excellent book that had be captivated to the end.
We learn a little more about what makes Reacher tick.
He is a truly fascinating character - violent yet tender, ruthless yet considerate and very, very clever.
I look forward, with relish, to his next adenture.
"Absolutely brilliant - Classic Reacher"
This was the first Jack Reacher novel I heard and I have now listened again and it's just as good. The plot is as enthralling as all Lee Childs work. Reacher is only after one thing the truth! even if he cant stand the guy he's helping the truth is more important. You will be kept guessing right to the end but with Lee Child that is never frustrating just enthralling.
If you are a Jack Reacher fan you will love it. If you haven't heard a Jack Reacher story yet this is a great introduction, you will definitely download another!
"Loved it - I don't seem to get sick of Reacher"
Yes - maybe not for a bit though.
The stories about the Russian characters in the gulag scared me! Was hoping there wouldn't be too much detail!
The books are also great to read. What I enjoy the most is the drama JH is able to convey in the reading of the book.
It mostly makes me laugh, hold my breath and then breath a sigh of relief. Bit of a roller coaster the Jack Reacher books in terms of emotions!!
"One Shot is a great addiion to the 'Reacher' story"
I must declare right up front that I am an avid Lee Childs fan.
I felt that this story was one of the best since the very early ones with more twists than usual.
It's a shame that Tom Cruise, an actor who I normally enjoy, elected to play Reacher (a role that he is physically unsuited to in the extreme) in the film version of this story.
The fact that the film was a dog should not put anyone off listening to this Audible version of what is really a very different story.
Jeff Harding's narration added greatly to my enjoyment - a real five star listen.
Excellent product excellent narrative. Well worth listening to. That is the second time I have listened to this book. I think that I have listened to all of the books twice now. Very sad...
"Great book - why the music mid sentence?"
Story as always good and a great performance but why has the recording got 15 seconds of music spread throughout it - mid sentence in some cases?
"would have been better without interruptions"
Great book, well read, only negative was that when it jumped chapters it would play the theme music, which sometimes happened mid paragraph
So every once in a while the tile music would play. Not for long maybe ten seconds, just a bit irritating.
