Story
When I first walked into Jake and Megan’s immaculate home, I felt totally at ease. Sitting in the crisp white living room, they held hands and talked lovingly about their baby girl, Fern. As the weeks passed, I began to think I’d made a mistake in taking the job. Jake was overly friendly from the start, watching my every move and always offering to drop me home, even though it was out of his way. And Megan seemed to take pleasure in telling me off in front of her husband, blaming me for things I hadn’t done.

Story
My husband is a doctor. He’s smart and charming, and everybody trusts him. Except me. On the surface, it looks like I have it all–the perfect marriage, the perfect husband, the perfect life. But it’s far from the truth. Doctor Drew Devlin is not the respectable figure he makes out to be. The reason we moved to this beautiful, old property with a gorgeous view of the sea was because we needed to put our past behind us. It should’ve been a fresh start for us both.

Story
Our new home was meant to be a chance for us to start again; to make new friends and forget the past. And as I look around the barbeque we’ve thrown for our neighbors, I dare to dream that things will be all right. I watch my husband joking as he flips burgers and my daughter turning cartwheels on our sun-bleached lawn. And then my gaze falls on my son, Jacob, and his new girlfriend, Rose, in her light blue jeans and her green crop top. There is a worried expression clouding her beautiful eyes.... The next day I get a call from Rose’s mother that chills me to the bone.

I was just a little girl, fast asleep in my stroller, the day my mother was killed. I don’t remember anything about the sunny day that turned so dark. She’d be so happy for me now, 20 years later, with my dream job as a photographer, and I’m sure she’d love my new boyfriend, Gabriel. But all my happiness vanishes in a heartbeat when the man from our past walks toward me, his eyes on me for just a fraction too long.

It was read very well and I enjoyed the story very much. Pesonally I would have liked to experienced more of Lillys romance rather than just a overview. Besides my personal romantic preference I really enjoyed the story.

Exciting thriller full of twists
A great thriller that kept me intrigued and in suspense. Quite a long and detailed story line but i didn’t feel that it dragged on - it progressed nicely. I enjoyed the switch of characters which aided the performance of the book to come to life. All in all, a really good read.

Persevered but would not recommend
A frustrating read. Skipped a few chapters which likely didnt help with detail as at first it seemed far too slow and pointless, wasnt enjoying it at all. Then at the end there was far too much, an absolute over load which didnt seem plausible. Did end up not liking any of the characters so must have felt some involvement surprisingly.

Envy and Betrayal
A story of two women who meet when one is still a child and whose paths cross again years later. Carla was bullied as a child and now thinks the world owes her a living. A gripping thriller but not quite in the class of Gone Girl or Girl on a Train.
