Someone's getting married. Someone's getting murdered.
In a dark, dark wood
Nora hasn't seen Clare for ten years. Not since Nora walked out of school one day and never went back.
There was a dark, dark house
Until, out of the blue, an invitation to Clare’s hen do arrives. Is this a chance for Nora to finally put her past behind her?
And in the dark, dark house, there was a dark, dark room
But something goes wrong. Very wrong.
And in the dark, dark room.... Some things can’t stay secret forever.

"Could not stop listening"
Great story, great narration and a good plot. Hard to stop listening to this one.
Very engaging. Imogen Church did a wonderful job reading. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a who-done-it with an unreliable narrator.
"Good narration, lame story"
If she would have settled the story after the characters university, lets say this happened 5,6 years after that, it would totally made sense, but a girl hung up on a relationship of her teens that ended more than 10 years ago its basically lame and then the rest of the story made no sense at all. I finished bc I was waiting for it to get good. Darn waste of time. The narration was good though.
"A few thrilling moments, strains belief"
I finished this, and enjoyed it while listening, but I felt that it was overall very disappointing. The climax is just silly, some of the characters are quite annoying. And their motivations are not believable. The performance is good, but otherwise, do not recommend.
"Couldn't stop reading"
Such a great book, brilliant story line, full of plot twists. Would defiantly recommend to anyone wanted a good read
"had me glued from page 1"
it was never boring. this book just got on with the story from start to finish and had me gripped the entire way.
her voices were brilliant. she could do different accents and bring soul to the characters in a way that you may not get when just reading. they became more believable
really enjoyed listening to this book which i think had a lot to do with how it was narrated. i think some bits were a little predicatble but it didn't really matter as you still didn't know how it was all going to end. would recommend it for sure
For once- a narrator who can do accents and make it an enjoyable listening experience. Good plot, well structured . Really enjoyed
One of the best audio books I've heard! I was hooked, listening at every spare moment.
Brilliant story line and great narration
"Gripping story, superbly read"
One of the best audiobook readers I've heard! And the story gripped me all the way through.
Slowish start but an excellent listen. Couldn't put it down. Not read any of Ruth Ware's books before but I will in the future.
"A hen party from Hell"
Been less overly dramatic with her reading of the story
Boredom. I struggled to finish it
A group of not particularly likeable people get together, against the better judgement of several of them, to celebrate the hen night of one member. The main character hasn't actually seen her for years and there is obviously a lot of history in their past. Tragedy occurs but the villain of the piece is pretty predictable.
"KEPT ME LISTENING, I REALLY ENJOYED IT."
Firstly I must say the reader was excellent. She had me smiling often when she was Flo. She portrayed the individuals in my opinion excellently.
It did keep me guessing along the way but some parts were so obvious because of this I have marked a 4.
"Unputdownable! I loved this!"
Brilliant. V enjoyable story, great atmospheric writing and exceptionally skilful and compelling narration. The pace was about right and lots of details in the plot to consider. I guessed the conclusion about three quarters of the way through but that didn't spoil my enjoyment at all. Imogen Church is such a fab narrator. I always love listening to her. Her ability to convey atmosphere is good and her mastery of different voices and accents is legendary. I would definitely read things from this author - and listen to this narrator - again.
"Enough twist & turns to keep me listening"
The narrator was perfect for this book, threw a few accents in when appropriate but not annoying.
It's was an easy listen, Some reviews said it was abit predictable but I didn't think so, there was enough twists to keep me guessing and I changed my mind a few times.
