Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Any additional comments?

Great, enjoyable short story; wish it had continued for longer.

"The author leaves a lot to the imagination"

It was free and I wanted a break before listening to the final 2 of 5 new releases this week. The first three (The Whistler by John Grisham, Livia Lone by Barry Eisler, and Disruption by Chuck Barrett) have been interesting and I have written brief reviews of each. High Heat by Richard Castle is up next (the Nikki Heat series tends to be very light mysteries). The Window Man is one in a series of Killer Women short stories by this British author. The stories are creepy!

    "Successfully presented SHORT STORY"
If you could sum up FREE: The Window Man in three words, what would they be?

    (Free), Suspenseful, Well Narrated

Who was your favorite character and why?

This is an ensemble of characters. That's how I enjoyed it. If listeners read the descriptive blurb- "pared to the bone" jumps out as being relevant. Not competition for Hemingway. Or Fitzgerald. On that premise, I felt it succeeds.

    Which scene was your favorite?

The therapy session. The meeting with the "Window Man". The snoop through the house.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    Suspenseful.

    Any additional comments?

This is a quick twenty-five minute long suspense listen. It was FREE, but if reasonably priced I will listen to others in the series. I would use an Audible credit IF it were a full length collection / anthology. The voice talent was well done, in my opinion. Pleasant, easy to understand.

    "A Tale of the Unexpected"

Unusual story, didn't see the ending coming. Superb narrator Clare Corbett added greatly to the experience and was entirely without the bizarre vocal inflections that can jar so much when you have someone's voice literally in your head.
I am temporarily without reading glasses so Audible is proving invaluable and has the added benefit of allowing me to get on with other things as I listen. (Does anyone else find that listening in bed works faster than a Mogadon?)
This short story was a free download and based on this I will certainly try another Louise Millar book.

Would you listen to FREE: The Window Man again? Why?

I enjoyed it and would like to listen again now I know the 'secret'

What other book might you compare FREE: The Window Man to, and why?

Yes, I may get the complete audio-book now

Have you listened to any of Clare Corbett’s other performances? How does this one compare?

The author allows you own assumptions to trick you.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Nothing, I have heard her narrate the latter Ruth Galloway books by Elly Griffiths and she did that well. Although she is not great at trying to narrate deep male voices.
