Publisher's Summary

April 1933. Eddie Pettit is a gentle soul with a near-magical gift for working with horses. When he is killed in a violent accident, there is skepticism about the cause of death. Who would want to kill Eddie, and why? Maisie Dobbs is determined to offer her help. As she uncovers lies and manipulation on a national scale, Maisie must decide whether to risk it all to see justice done.

Love Maisie Dobbs stories

What I like most about Maisie Dobbs stories is how Maisie reflects on life and the insight that she brings to herself. Each story seems to have a new reflection. I also really like the attention to historical detail in the stories. My grandparents lived in Lambeth during the first and second world wars And the stories give me an insight into how their lives may have been. Thoroughly recommend the book to anybody that enjoys a good story and historical setting.
